A very productive week, more cooking and gardening. My annuals are now all planted, petunias, daisies, violas and I've topped up the herb garden and added garlic and leek. Our lime tree has always done brilliantly in a pot, it produces great crops of lime almost all year round. So, on the weekend we spent time wandering at a plant nursery that specialises in dwarf/container fruit trees and we now have a blood orange and blueberry. Quite the little orchard going ... can't wait for fruit. I think a lemon will be next, just not sure whether to go with Eureka lemon or a Meyer lemon ... advice anyone?
For all you GoT fans, have you seen the clip of Jon Snow singing Wildling for Ygritte ... loved it!

THE CONFECTIONER'S TALE by Laura Madeleine ~ I enjoyed this one although it did have a few issues.
ROSE UNDER FIRE by Elizabeth Wein (Code Name Verity #2) ~ audiobook. Very emotional.
TELL THE TRUTH by Katherine Howell (Ella Marconi #8) ~ great installment, sad it's the last in the Ella Marconi series ... for now. I'm not ready for goodbye!
I just got The Color of Our Sky. I look forward to your review of it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have quite the garden. I love fruit. My parents have an apple tree and pear tree though this year it looks like there won't be any pears. My mom would love to have a lime tree. She uses limes in her cooking quite a bit. I hope your garden has a good yield and that you enjoy all of your new fruit trees!
I did get a chance to watch that Game of Thrones/Coldplay "Musical". I loved that part with Kit singing "Wildling" and I also liked Emilia Clarke's "Rastafarian Targaryen" song. I'm off now to watch the new episode of GoT. Hoping Evil Ramsey dies...
very small garden Christina, that's why we have fruit trees in pots. I'd love to have a big vege garden but sadly there's no room.
DeleteUggh Ramsey is pure evil, I hope he comes to a very, nasty end!! I'm off to check out "Rastafarian Targaryen" lol
I need to try Jill Shalvis, I've heard such great things.
ReplyDeleteEven though you didn't hit your goal, you were still active everyday. Maybe try to make your goal vary day-to-day. Like, hit 10K one day, 8K one day, and 6K the other days?
That video is awesome! I had not seen that... now I miss Ygritte on the show. :) Fun to see them all
ReplyDeleteI think it would be cool to grow your own limes. Good luck with the gardening, and have a super week!
Well done on all of your gardening AND cooking. You must have stolen all of my productivity and motivation! (You thief!) :-)
ReplyDeleteMmm I keep meaning to buy some garlic to plant out - love eating it. Must do this week! I think I have a Meyer lemon tree but not sure as was here before I bought the property. I get lemons most of the year. You'll have to find out what grows best in Brisbane.
ReplyDeleteTo me your walking looks good and gardening counts for a lot as well and then there is the thought of flowers etc to come.
All your coming reads look great, I'm a little bogged down, reading a straight romance which to be honest is no longer my thing but NZ author so endeavouring to be supportive. I like romance but there has to be something more than a plain romance!
Enjoy your reads.
Not read many Australian authors. Need to rectify that.
ReplyDeleteAwesome song :)
ReplyDeleteI loved The Guest Cottage...and keep wanting to read something by Jill Shalvis. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteI've loved some of Kearsly's novels in the past. Lately have seen less than glowing reviews. Your garden sounds magnificent. Sadly, I don't have a green thumb. Not even for house plants. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that fresh limes and lemons sound wonderful. I love both. Enjoy your reading this week!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhhhh Still the One is out??????? Need to get that... stat!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like Jill Shalvis and really need to catch up on her Animal Magnetism series. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI really wish I had a green thumb and enjoyed that kind of thing. I have always been more comfortable in doors, but I'm trying to change that this summer! I don't know that I'll ever get the urge to plant or garden, though. :)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading the Nancy Thayer book, soon. Glad you're enjoying it.
Unfortunately I am incapable of keeping anything green alive though I would like to have a little herb garden type thing and grow garlic, spring onions and parsley. Have a wonderful week!

Your garden sounds lovely. We create potted gardens too and have had wonderful success. I have Allen's novella and actually forgot about it..so thank you.
ReplyDeleteI hope to read The Guest Cottage and hope you enjoy it. It sounds like one of those perfect beach reads. Thanks for visiting my Sunday post and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteEvery bit of activity helps! I would love fruit trees, but the winter is just too harsh for most of them. I want to read The Guest Cottage. Loved the video.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering now if I can get a container fruit plant for indoors in my apartment. Hmmm. Any pollination issues, I wonder ...?
