Linking up with Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? now hosted by Kathryn @Book Date.
Well the first week of 2016 didn't quite go as planned, our home server crashed and died and we changed our internet & wifi arrangement and ended up being without for a few days so apologies for being MIA and not visiting. I must admit I enjoyed the unplanned, unplugged time but this week things are back on track #fingerscrossed
Yesterday we had a 'gourmet' picnic in the park and played badminton, so much fun!
After Christmas I watched the Downton Abbey Christmas special. Sad to say goodbye to one of my favourite series but what a wonderful send-off.
And amongst all the series I can't wait for the return of, Vikings tops the list. How exciting does the new season look :)
#FitReaders co-hosted by Felicia @ Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and Jen @ That’s What I’m Talking About. FitReaders is a great way to stay motivated, accountable and it's more fun having bloggy friends to check in with. If you also have a fitbit and want to add me, let me know :)
I love this group ... support and encouragement no matter what level of activity you're at. Felicia and Jen's stories made me feel comfortable joining 2 years ago, a virus affected my heart and after 6 months of no exercise, I was cleared to begin walking again. It's been a long, slow road to getting heart healthy (literally) but I'm so glad it was with bookblogwalkers/FitReaders. Heartfelt thanks girls HA :)
This year I'm going to try and do the 5k each month. January was tough but I did it :)
Fitbit Steps:
Mon: 10,448 steps ~ walk & swimming
Tue: 6489 steps ~ swimming
Wed: 15,522 steps ~ Did January 5k walk with Bella
Thurs: 12,048 steps ~ walk with Bella
Fri: 8034 steps ~ swimming
Sat: 8499 steps ~ play in park & badminton
Sun: 8650 steps ~ swimming and walk with Bella

Looks like a great week!! LOVING that last photo with her big sunglasses on!! Tooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed she actually keeps them on Julie :))
DeleteLiving in the pool- good way to spend a hot day. and your picnic looks marvelous too! Looks like a fun day. I haven't played badminton in ages. :)
ReplyDeleteVikings! I just watched the first episode the other day on Hulu. I was trying to decide if I should binge it. I thought it had promise but wasn't sure if I wanted to take the plunge. If it's good maybe I will.
Have a great week!
I hadn't played Badminton since high school, *cough* 20 years plus lol ... I'd forgotten how much fun it is.
DeleteThe first season of Vikings was good but season 2 & 3 were no kidding ... A-Mazing!! Go for it :)
Love the photographs
ReplyDeleteThanks Mystica, have a great week!
DeleteUnplanned unplugged time is always good but I'm always glad when it goes away! The picnic looks tasty and I absolutely love the photos of Mia. The one with the sunglasses is just beyond adorable. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteBTW - I did receive Full Circle. I can't wait to start the series!
I'm so far behind with blogging now but that's not unusual for me at the best of times, I'm soooo easily sidetracked with other things lol. Can't wait to hear when you start Sherryl's Iceberg trilogy :)
DeleteGlad you got your Internet/computer situation fixed. I've become so reliant on the Internet that I hate being without it.
ReplyDeleteOh I wish it was summer here. Love the pictures, especially that last one of Mia!
Great job with your walking and exercise this week! I'm not ready for a 5K yet but maybe by the time warm weather rolls around again I will be.
I've got my eye on the new Heather Gudenkauf book. I hope you enjoy it and I can't wait to read your review!
oh me too Christina but I liked having no pressure to blog, even though I've now got a lot of catching up to do. After my January effort, the only way I'm doing a 5k in February is if it's by the water so I can cool off ... maybe a walk on the beach lol. You are on a roll now with your exercise; *high five*
DeleteHow great that you had swimming and sunshine to fill in the time when you were unplugged. Love the big sunglasses on Baby Princess....and what fun she must be.
ReplyDeleteI am tempted to do the Fit thing...I really need to get walking again....but, well, we'll see. LOL.
I have Just Say Yes, and hope to read it soon...and Missing Pieces is on my list for next week.
Enjoy your reading...and walking, etc. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Oh yes Mia is a bucket load of fun and joy and mischief lol.
DeleteYay you should join us on FitReaders, so encouraging. I found 10 mins a day physically and mentally quite tough when I started exercising again but the group is very supportive!
Just finished Just Say Yes and I enjoyed it :)
Enjoy Just Say Yes..and look at you and yours out in the sunshine...so lovely! What a beautiful family. Glad you are plugged in again. I freak out when my internet goes down, as I work from home.
ReplyDeleteI finally got around to reading Just Say Yes and I really enjoyed it ... fun read, even though I wanted to slap Jade a few times lol.
DeleteLove Mia in her sunnies, we just had a news item reminding everyone to cover up eyes properly in the sun! Well done with the 5K, in that heat! Oh No!
ReplyDeleteI am a wuss walking in heat, anything over 25 and no way! So happy you enjoyed Cathy Lamb, was just looking on Goodreads and see that was my very first CL book too! Uplugged unplanned - well not so good transferring files but is good to be unplugged though. Hope it will all work wonderfully well. Makes me think I should do a tidy up on my computer and a back up!!
Ah yes I try and remember to wear my sunnies, especially with our increased risk of melanoma. I loathe walking in that heat, the 5k nearly did me in and normally Bella is keen to walk but she kept parking her butt. I'm struggling this week, barely making my target *sigh*
DeleteInternet/wifi seems to working well, I have some catching up to do lol. And yes never hurts to get a reminder to back up photos and documents.
Can't wait to read the next Cathy Lamb :)
Wohoo Vikings 4!
ReplyDeleteI know right :))
DeleteThat picnic looks wonderful and the pictures are great! I especially like the one with you and Mia and the badminton. Hope you have great week!
ReplyDeletesuch a fun day and I adore having photos to look back on! Have a wonderful week too :)
DeleteWhat lovely pics Teddyree and that picnic looks amazing! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteAnd well done on keeping up the exercise too... it can be hard in this heat (says the lazy Deborah who's been out once in the last month!) ;-)
Hey you've been walking on the beach ... way to go Deb!! Might try that for my 5k in Feb, the heat knocks me around but I'm ok if I can splash and get cool :)
DeleteLove your pictures, beautiful family!! Hope all gets better for you!!

Thanks for visiting Joann, have a wonderful week :)
DeleteGlad you enjoyed being unplugged even if it was forced upon you. Technology can be a wicked bit*ch at times. Loved the picnic pictures! It was fun to look at them during our snowstorm. Episode two of the final season of Downton plays tonight. I want to savor every episode. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteeek snowstorm, hope you're all safe and warm Nise`. Our pool has been like a warm bath the last few days, could do with some of that snow to cool it down.
DeleteEnjoy Downton, the final season is all sorts of wonderful!!
Nice family pics. Live in the pool wow that sounds great. We have over 2 feet of snow where I live. Hate when computers crash and you have to transfer everything. You can see mine here: http://theresaraymer.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteNew GFC follower
eek that's a lot of snow, the water in our pool is bath temperature, could do with a bit of snow haha
DeleteI've definitely got to get more physically active.
ReplyDeleteFitReaders group will cheer you on :)
DeleteWhat a lovely post. Lots of good family time, some great exercise and super reads! Couldn't be better!
ReplyDeleteI agree lol, thanks for visiting!
DeleteI got Missing Pieces too last week. Looking forward to reading it!
ReplyDeleteIt's Monday! What Are You Reading?
I love Heather Gudenkauf's writing, hope Missing Pieces is a winner for both of us!
DeleteHubby and I watched 2. Episodes of Vikings last night before we decided neither of us was interested. Mia is getting so big!
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week,
Shelleyrae @ Book'd Out
a friend of mine thought season 1 was just ok but kept going and she's now addicted to Vikings lol.
DeleteWhat great photos! Thanks for sharing. And YEA!!! Congrats on reaching the 5k!! I don't watch much TV, so nothing that I'm looking forward to. I didn't even know DA was ending.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen, next one will have to be by the water so I can cool off!!
DeleteIt sounds like you've been having lots of summer fun over there, meanwhile elsewhere, we're cranking up the heating. Haha!
ReplyDeleteAh, I'm going to miss Downton Abbey - one of my favourite shows but as you said, a great send off.
I really need to read some of Heather Gudenkauf's newer work. Happy Reading!
Reading With Jade
polar opposite weather lol. Not sure anything will replace Downton Abbey but I've got heaps of new series to start on :)
DeleteComputer troubles are so frustrating - glad you got it worked out. I think being forced to unplug for a few days is great! Your pictures are adorable! Sounds like a lovely summer you're having. I'll just be pouting over here in our negative degree temps. LOL. ;) Mia is the CUTEST. The sunglasses picture - OMG. Love.
ReplyDeleteYou are rocking the fitness and steps. Getting healthy after having health issues - you inspire me so much!
I am really excited to read Missing Pieces, I hope it's good! Enjoy!
Thanks Brandie, and likewise you inspire and motivate me with your running! I'm so far behind with blogging now but that's not unusual for me at the best of times, I'm soooo easily sidetracked with other things lol. No internet I feel like my throat has been cut but I loved having no pressure to blog haha
DeleteUgh! Computer troubles! We're having printer troubles right now--which, not quite as debilitating, are still infuriating--so I can relate. But, hey...you get to live in a pool...in January! That's not bad at all!
ReplyDeleteHope you got the printer sorted, technology is great isn't it, until it doesn't work! Love having a pool with our weather, it's sure had a work out this summer!
DeleteIt always throws me a little when I stop by someone whose seasons are switched from mine. Glad you enjoyed your break! Sorry about the computer/internet problems. I had those in abundance this past spring and ended getting a new computer. Sometimes I really dislike technology.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week!

Too bad about your computer but time away is always nice :) I love to see your healthy walking updates. I lost my Fitbit and haven't replaced it yet :(
ReplyDeleteLove your photos.
ReplyDeleteLove the weather too...we are freezing here, but I guess we all get our chance at some point in the year for warm weather. :)
I hope you are having a good week.
