Mailbox Monday
Thank you to Marcia at the Printed Page for hosting Mailbox Monday every week.
2 books in my mailbox this week and I kid you not, they made my week! A very miserable week with our family succumbing to the flu, so read on to see what cheered me up :-)
A big, big thank you hug to Jenny from Jenny Loves To Read who sent me this one just because "what are friends for?" Jen, it made my day to see this in the mailbox, thank you so much, my pal across the pond!
Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
While on vacation in California, sixteen-year-old best girlfriends Anna and Frankie conspire to find a boy for Anna's first summer romance, but Anna harbors a painful secret that threatens their lighthearted plan and their friendship.
Beautifully written and emotionally honest, this is a debut novel that explores what it truly means to love someone and what it means to grieve, and ultimately, how to make the most of every single moment this world has to offer. www.goodreads.com
The Dust of 100 Dogs by A.S. King
In the late seventeenth century, famed teenage pirate Emer Morrisey was on the cusp of escaping the pirate life with her one true love and unfathomable riches when she was slain and cursed with the dust of one hundred dogs, dooming her to one hundred lives as a dog before returning to a human body -- with her memories intact. Now she's a contemporary American teenager and all she needs is a shovel and a ride to Jamaica.
I won this one over at Diane's blog The Book Resort and was thrilled to see it arrive so quickly with a lovely note and bookmarks from the author. Thanks to Diane and the author of The Dust of 100 Dogs, Amy.
This month on The Eclectic Reader you could win Frostbitten by Kelley Armstrong OR The White Queen by Philippa Gregory OR Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink. Check this blog post for details. International entrants welcome.
