Teaser Tuesday

MizB of Should Be Reading hosts this cool weekly event. Grab your current read. Let the book fall open to a random page. Share (2) “teaser” sentences from that page. Share the title & author of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR list if they like your teaser. Please avoid spoilers!
"I want to yell so loud that Baby Girl can hear me that dirty ain't a color, disease ain't the negro side of town. I want to stop that moment from coming--and it come in every white child's life -- when they start to think that colored folks ain't as good as whites." page 96 The Help by Kathryn Stockett - absolutely loving this!
This month on The Eclectic Reader you could win Frostbitten by Kelley Armstrong OR The White Queen by Philippa Gregory OR Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink. Check this blog post for details. International entrants welcome.

  11. I've heard that "The Help" is an absolutely fabulous book. I am typically a romance reader and very into my genre... do you think I'll enjoy breaking the genre barrier for this book?

  17. booklover1335 ~ this is Kathryn Stockett's debut novel, she is working on her 2nd.

I don't want to jinx it but if the 2nd half of the book is as good as the first this will be one of my favourite reads for 2009!!

Kate ~ I used to be a 3 genre reader -horror/suspense-thriller & romance (great combo, go figure)but starting last year I've been pushing out of my comfort zone & I am LOVING it. I am sure The Help is going to be a favourite for 2009so I'd say DO IT, but you can always come back and check out my review.

  20. I wanted to stop by and congratulate you as I saw Nikola awarded you the BINGO award for being OUTSTANDING...and boy is that right on! I made the BINGO award and am trying to get around to some of the winners and it makes me very happy to see that people take it seriously and really award it to deserving blogs like yours. I know I have heard of your blog and been here before but just began following today. I am especially happy you got the BINGO as I also am married to a NEIL and he is MY sanity saver! I hope you will visit me sometime at BOOKIN' WITH BINGO...I am a fairly new blog since January but trying hard! I see you are in Australia? Did you read THE WINDS OF TARA? I purchased from a bookstore in Australia since they won't release it here...and loved it! Thanks for being a great blog! say hi to your Neil and congrats on the BINGO award!
