It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and an Update :)

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. Thanks Sheila :)

Not a great week on the reading side of things but it was a busy, emotional week. I got as much done in advance as I possibly could for Callum's 18th and Saturday was the anniversary of my mum's passing from Melanoma. It's been 4 years and I still miss her every day. This is the card I made my sister :)

And this is us heading off to the A-League Grand Final ... what an awesome end to the weekend with our Brisbane Roar football team (soccer) winning against Perth Glory 2:1. Way to go ROAR!!

Today is surgery on my arm day (woohoo) so I'm off to hospital soon to have a nice anaesthetic-induced sleep ;) Don't think I'll manage any blog visiting today, maybe later in the week.

  8. I'm sorry about your mom. My mom passed away 8 years ago and not a day goes by without me thinking about her. I hope your surgery went well! Regarding books, I've seen a lot of reviews about Divergent. It's not a book that I would normally read, but I have to admit I am curious about all the attention it is receiving. Since this is the year of me leaving my comfort zone, I may have to read it. Hope you have a good week.

  9. Hard to lose a mother at a younger age. I was 21 when my mom died of cancer. I still think of her often and miss being able to share. Mother's day is always a bittersweet day for me.
    Congrats to your team.
    I'm praying through your surgery.
I hope you enjoy Divergent as you recover. :-) I am eager for book two.
Have a good week - rest up!
