It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and Back To Reality :)

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme ... thanks Sheila :)

Well we're back from our 7 day cruise and already fantasising about the next one, hopefully with my boys if we can work it in with their uni and work schedules. A wonderful way to holiday even if I'd love longer in port to really enjoy the friendly locals and their culture.

Port Highlights:
Noumea: Patisserie heaven, watching friendly locals play Boule by the beach
Lifou: stunning natural beauty, snorkelling, aquamarine waters, cave jump in the dark, friendly people, yummy crepes made in the village :)
Vanuatu: have spent time here before, a truly beautiful place out of the city of Port Vila, delightful people, they live so simply and are rich in so many ways!

"a La Vieille France" ~ Noumea
Pacific Dawn docked at Noumea on sunset
 Pacific Dawn moored at Lifou
Lady of Lourdes church on Lifou - very celestial with the sun behind

 Lifou
 beautiful waters of Lifou
these kids were a 'crack up'

just one of the many towel animals made by our clever cabin steward

carved fruit & vege waterfall on tour of galley ~ amazing

strawberry cloud ~ my 2nd favourite cocktail

 pirate night

sun setting over Port Vila ~ sailaway

island night ~ we danced the night away

Hope you enjoyed the pics, this weekend I'm away with girlfriends on a scrapbooking weekend so I'm hoping to scrap some cruise photos. Now on to book stuff :)

  2. Thanks for sharing the pictures of your cruise. Sounds like an amazing trip!

I'll have to check out your review of One Breath Away. I just got it from the library and can't wait to read it. The premise kind of reminds me of that Jodi Picoult book Nineteen Minutes.

  10. Oh it looks like you had such fun! I love the towel animals - a simple joy. I always like the monkey but yours almost looks like a gorilla. :-)
I saw so many good reviews on One Breath Away that I picked it up at NetGalley. The Homecoming of Samuel Lake is getting good comments too.
