A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme ... thanks Sheila!
Well a lot can happen in a week, my eldest son, Anthony turned 21 (he's my Halloween baby) and today him and his fiancee head off to a new job, 1000 km away. It will be very strange not having them close by and the first time either of them have been so far from home. Lots of firsts ... a little scary & daunting but also new & exciting!
I had a wonderful time at Daisy Chain scrapbook retreat, much needed stress relief made all the more special by gorgeous friends. Here's some of my layouts -
Callum & Bella ~ camping at The Gorge (Easter 2012)
Mike and I ~ Botanical Gardens September 2012
Mother's Day 2012

THE RAVEN BOYS by Maggie Stiefvater

Finished last week:
still slowly working my way through the same books, the goings on of the last few months have seriously hindered reading time and inclination to be honest. I want my mojo back, hopefully this week will be a little more relaxed and I'll be back visiting your blogs :)

ReplyDeleteSuch a great post. Many 1st for sure but exciting, I wish them the best, don't miss them to much :-) I enjoyed your scrapbooking.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a review on Still Alice audio. I hear Love Anthony is amazing on audio so I recommend that way if you get to it.
Going to read your Forgtten Garden review now, that is on my Wishlist.
My mojo was terrible first part of the year so I sympathise.
Your scrapbook productions are so gorgeous! I would love to learn how to do this....
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your reading, even if you're on the same books...sometimes other things do take precedence.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
I miss scrapping! I love your layouts! Thanks for commenting on my Monday post about the loss of our parent. It is so difficult, and as each month goes by I think I am healing the hole in my heart but the littlest thing can still make me tear up. And this year 11/26 will be the day that I will have to hold it together. Le sigh.
ReplyDeleteLove your scrap booking.
ReplyDeleteI have the reverse of your son problem. My oldest son has moved home as he and his wife are separated and headed for divorce. Sad, but I get to see my 6 month old granddaughter a lot more often. It was just his weekend and we had so much fun with her.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
Happy birthday to your son :) My oldest daughter is coming up on her 21st birthday too. Sigh..where does the time go??
ReplyDeleteI see that you enjoyed The Secret Keeper...I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of that!
Happy reading!
Happy Birthday to your son! My youngest (son) turned 21 in July and moved out in Sept. The older kids did not move out until they were finished with college, so it was a surprise for me and a bit hard in the beginning, but now I kinda like it. It helps that all three are living within an hour of us! Looking forward to your reviews this week.
ReplyDeleteSuch an exciting week in your house! What a big move for your son and his fiance!!! I wish them all the best in their new place :)
ReplyDeleteI adore the cover for Crewel, that red hair is just beautiful!
It's always tough when the oldest leave the nest. I wish them much luck and success in their move! Very exciting for them.
ReplyDeleteGlad the retreat delivered much needed stress relief! And as always gorgeous layouts :)
Have a wonderful week.

ReplyDeleteI finished Light Between Oceans and LOVED it!!!
Hey Teddy! Hope you have a lovely reading week. I went to the YA Literature Symposium this weekend in St. Louis and met a lovely librarian from Australia! She was talking about all the lovely Australian authors that aren't getting enough attention here in the states. Very interesting and super fun. She was a blast to hang out with and had an utterly lovely accent!
ReplyDeleteWhatcha readin' this week @ the Brunette Librarian :)
The layout of Callum and Bella is awesome! I love how you do the bent corners - who would've thought it would add so much character! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sending you all my Gage photos and you can send me back a beautiful book. Name your price! You are so talented :)
