It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme ... thanks Sheila!

For me, the truly amazing thing about being a blogger is the wonderful sense of community and the friendships that blossom over the years. Some bloggers don't like to share personal stuff, (and that's cool) some blogs are an open book, I guess I fall somewhere in the middle. I love seeing friend's photos, sharing in a small way in joys and sadness, ups and downs, getting to know them through their personal posts. How about you?

I mentioned last week about long months of tests and the wait for answers. My specialist appointment confirmed I have Myocarditis (an inflammation of the heart) from a virus I didn't know I had (well I did but I didn't know it was a virus lol.) Anyway to cut a long story short it's a relief to know there is a reason for my utter exhaustion, it's now a case of finding the right heart medication and rest, rest, rest and heal. Frustrating at this time of the year but ... it could be worse.

Thanks so much to everyone that has kept me in their thoughts and prayers over the last few months. Mike and Callum are always there for me, they've picked up the slack on the home front, little Bella is my constant 'resting' companion (I think she's enjoying being a slug lol) and my very dear bestie Alaine is a never ending source of support and laughter.

Our friends' beach wedding was lovely and after a week of having a Christmas tree up with nothing on it, Callum helped and our tree is now decorated ... can't rush these things :)

The photos I took were atrocious so I'll just share the one that did turn out

Would love that puppy for Christmas, (I think!). I fall in the middle with sharing my family's life, and I love to hear about my blogger friends' lives as well.

  11. Oh, I hope you're on the mend really soon! It's great to finally have answers.

I'm sorry about the ending to Daddy Love....I always know that I'm risking it by picking up one of her books; some I love, and others...well, not so much. I did download it last week.

Hope you have a great week, and thanks for visiting my blogs.

  20. I'm assuming they're going to give you an antiviral and some medicine to help the heart. Hopefully you won't have to be on the heart medicine forever, hopefully it'll be temporary. So don't push your self, hope you get lots of rest and hope health returns to you soon. I know what it's like to feel exhausted all the time, along with dealing with chronic pain and breathing issues. I can't even imagine how it would feel with the heart being involved. Hang in there, and don't expect too much out of yourself. Remember even when you're feeling better, to kind of take it easy until you're completely over the myocarditis. Good thing you have all those "rest companions" (animals? pets? children of friends?) - I know I totally appreciate having one of my sons around to help out with dinners, and to give me back massages - they're usually only about five minutes long, but I'll take what I can get. ;)

You'll have plenty of time to rest and read - take advantage of that! I do. When I can focus. I only finished one book also this week. But it was a good one! :)

Have a great week, and enjoy reading and resting

  21. I'm sorry that you've been feeling so exhausted, but I'm so glad they figured out what's been going on. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to find the right medication and get you feeling better :)

Good luck with your reading this week!

  22. Girlfriend! Oh no?! Sorry to hear about the sneaky virus, but at least you finally have an answer. Sounds like your excellent sons are taking care of their mom so you're well on your way to healing. Follow the physician's instructions and snuggle lots with Bella. Dogs have magical healing powers :)

Prayers, thoughts, and hugs your way.
