A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you
plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme ... thanks Sheila!
With scorching temperatures throughout most of Australia last week and high fire danger and more of the same expected this week, I spent the week cooling off in the pool or reading and blogging in the aircon. Thoughts and prayers to all those affected by the bushfires.
After much frustration I created my 1st vector design to use on blog tiles/buttons. This one is for new Short & Sweet reviews. This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost will be my first Short & Sweet :)
************
I posted reviews for: (click on title)
MAN DROUGHT by Rachael Johns ~ a delightful contemporary romance set in rural Australia.
My Life According To Books I Read In 2012 ~ this was such fun
************
Finished last week:
THIS SIDE OF THE GRAVE by Jeanine Frost ~ mmm Bones ;)
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green ~ loved it!!
THE LIVES WE LOST by Megan Crewe ~ good 2nd installment

Reviews Coming:
THE SWEETEST DARK by Shana Abe ~ loved it (2013)
INDIGO AWAKENING by Jordan Dane ~ review Tue
Looks like you had a productive week. Since, here in Minnesota, we are mired in winter, I am envying you your heat -- but perhaps not quite so much of it. Glad you have the pool and air conditioning available.
ReplyDeleteThe Fault in Our Stars and The Sweetest Dark on both on my stack to read. I am sure I'll get to The Sweetest Dark before TFiOS though because it is a review book. I'm glad you liked both of them.
My Monday report will be posted at 8:30 PM my time. Happy reading!
You made that button? He is so cute! I like the short and sweet idea. some books don't need much of a review, just short and sweet.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you cool in my thoughts girly!
Have a great week.
I love the owl-so cute with his big eyes! I just want to hug him :)
ReplyDeleteI am envious of your warm weather! I look longingly at my pool ;o). Bones is such a loved character, guess I'd better read to find out why. Wicked awesome button.
ReplyDeleteThose buttons are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked The Fault in Our Stars. It was really good and moving.
Garden of Stones looks really interesting and I look forward to finding out what you thought of it.
Have a great week!
I love your design it is so sweet! You are actually the second person I've seen this week that just finished TFiOS, I absolutely loved that book (so much that I couldn't bring myself to review it. I was just speechless!).
ReplyDeleteI've had my eye on My One and Only for a little while. I'll be interested to hear what you thought of it! Have a fantastic week, I hope you stay safe and get to enjoy a few more books.

Enjoy the coming week :)
ReplyDeleteLove your idea for Short and Sweet Reviews. I like to write reviews that way and I like to review reviews written that way.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the design! CUTE! I had heard about the heat wave, all the way here in Texas! I hope it cools down soon for you guys! Here Is My Memes Post
ReplyDeleteGreat design! I'll be watching for those reviews.
ReplyDeleteI want to read The Fault in Our Stars....thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week. Hope it cools off for you!
Adorable graphics! I love me some owls :) Have a fantastic week of reading and I hope the weather cools down!! I do NOT like heat :(
ReplyDeleteLove the blog buttons you are creating - so cute! I cant believe your temperatures - wow! We are right around 10 degrees. Stay safe and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteLovin' your buttons! Wish I was there with you as the flu bug is running rampant around here. Warm weather would feel so good!!
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about The Fault in Our Stars. This is the second "It's Monday" post that lists a Kristan Higgins book. She's a new author I hope to read sometime this year.
ReplyDeleteYour button is adorable! Great job! I don't think I would like the kind of heat you all are having, but our heat wave of 65 degrees F just left me hungry for the 80-85 degree days. I'm so needy! Stay cool, and enjoy that pool a little extra for me!
ReplyDeleteYour button is sooo cute! :) I did the same as you last week in this heat. I setup a lounge/bed in the air-conditioned room and basically didn't move!! :) But on a serious note, the bushfires are just terrible. Each and every one of those firefighters and volunteers are heroes in my eyes. Hope you have a great reading week. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're melting in Australia, I'm freezing here in California (United States).... Do you get cold weather in the winter? your winter? My mom lives in Panama, where they have winter in our summer - it's called the rainy season. But the temperatures remain in the upper 80's. It's just wetter.
ReplyDeleteI like your button - turned out cute.
Happy reading!
Garden of Stones piqued my attention. And of course you loved Fault of Stars.
ReplyDeleteI love the button!!!! It's so you with the Owl!!! Hopefully rain will come your way and the temps will drop! Crazy how we have winter and right now you have summer!
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmm I am really interested in knowing what garden stomes is about!!
ReplyDeleteI still need to learn how to make a button. I'm hopeless! Love your short & sweet owl :)
