Synopsis: Mercy’s search continues ...

Mercy is an angel with a shattered memory, exiled from heaven for a crime she can’t remember committing.

So when she ‘wakes’ inside the body and life of eighteen-year-old Lela Neill, Mercy has only limited recall of her past life. Her strongest memories are of Ryan, the mortal boy who’d begun to fall for her – and she for him.

Mercy soon discovers that circumstances have forced Lela into waitressing at the Green Lantern, a busy city café frequented by suits, cab drivers, strippers, backpackers and the homeless, while caring for her terminally ill mother.

Just as Mercy is adjusting to Lela’s life, her beloved, Luc, reappears in her dreams, and she begins to glimpse her true nature and true feelings for Ryan. What she does not know is that her attempts to contact Ryan may have explosive consequences for everyone around her.

Meanwhile, ‘the Eight’ — the angelic beings responsible for her banishment — remain determined to keep Mercy and Luc apart, forever.

My Thoughts:
I was blown away by Mercy and Rebecca Lim's gorgeous writing - "dark, despairing and very very 'moreish'." Exile is good, just not as good but despite that teensy disappointment I'll be continuing on with the series, I've already bought the final two books haha.

Exile picks up where Mercy ends, with self-named exiled angel, Mercy removed from previous host Carmen Zappacosta and inhabiting 18 year old waitress, Lela Neill. Lela's story is an emotional one and the ending is a kicker. I saw it coming but it's like a car crash, it hurts to look but you just can't turn away.

Exile builds on the complex mythology glimpsed in Mercy and Mercy's splintered memories become more tangible. The search for answers continues. There's still so much we don't know ...

Next up is Muse

  4. It sounds like we had similar thoughts. Are you saying there are 4 books in this series? That is good to hear!

My fave cover is the UK-I think the US is too dark, the Australian one is a close second, and the German one is ugly.
