Book Blog Walkers: January ~ Weekly Update #1

I've just joined Felicia and The Geeky Blogger's Book Blog Walk For January ... it's all about getting active, just 30 mins for 31 days and getting your heart healthy and happy.

I got a virus 12 months ago which caused inflammation of my heart and consequently had 6 months on no exercise.  Then the go ahead to start walking again a few months ago, as long as I didn't get overheated, a little challenging in our climate lol.

Anyway I bought a fitbit after my best friend recommended it and found it quite motivating watching the steps tick over. (Let me know if you'd like a friend request on fitbit) It's great to get a cheer from friends ... hence joining this group, nice that I know quite a few of you already and it's always fun and way more encouraging doing this kind of thing with others, not to mention staying accountable :)

Day 1: 1 hour walk on the beach
Day 2: 45 mins walk in town
Day 3: 30 mins walk with our dog Bella, around neighbourhood

I finished Me Before You by JoJo Moyes so now to choose another audiobook to make the time walking, fly.

  1. Really good to know you have picked up this challenge. Yes it would be very hot walking in Australia at present. I moan when it gets a tad hot here - like 25! Nasty virus to get, hope it has no lasting damage.

    1. LOL 25 if only, I'd be moaning in the frigid temps that our northern hemisphere pals are dealing with ... never happy haha ;)

  5. Good luck with the exercise! I'm trying to get my eating under control this month and I'll move on the exercise soon. I've heard people mention fitbit but I don't know what it is exactly.

  6. 30 minutes a day can do wonders...I need to get back to it. I used to do a 30 minute cardio in the gym and follow a food plan that was designed to get the metabolism moving, too, and lost a lot of weight and felt great. Now I need to get back to it, as the pounds crept back on and I feel sluggish. Good luck!
