It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. Thanks Sheila!

I had a lovely Mother's Day, a phone catch up with Anthony (he's in the middle of his work rotation) and I saw Divergent with Callum. (loved it) Look at the mini hot water bottle I got from Bella for Mother's Day, isn't she just the sweetest, smartest furbaby ;)
Christine and Anthony's bubby is due next month (6 weeks to be exact, not that this Nonna is counting lol)

#bookblogwalkers update #19: Felicia's Book Blog Walkers:  I had a 'meh' week, I walked twice but it was half-hearted. Why is it when you most need the happy endorphins from a good walk, you least feel like it?

Reviews & Posts: (click on title)

FROM THE FEET UP by Tanya Saad ~ informative, courageous and moving memoir about Tanya's life and the BRCA1 gene fault.

WHILE WE WERE WATCHING DOWNTON ABBEY by Wendy Wax (audiobook) ~ loved the story and the narration. 4.5 stars

************

Finished last week:

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT TIME by Mark Haddon (audiobook) ~ a mystery narrated by a 15 year old with Aspergis. I enjoyed it.

STOLEN REMAINS by Christine Trent (Lady of Ashes #2) ~ review Tue

This Week's Reading List:

BILLABONG BLEND by Jennifer Scoullar ~ page 150

TAKE ME ON by Katie McGarry (Pushing the Limits #4) ~ looking forward to this one.

THE WITNESS by Nora Roberts (audiobook) ~ chapter 6, really good so far!

ECHO IN THE BONE by Diana Gabaldon ~ chapter 4, oops didn't read any last week.

Reviews Coming:

THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES by Sue Monk Kidd (audiobook) ~ totally recommend this one, Jenna Lamia is a favourite narrator.

FOUR FRIENDS by Robyn Carr ~ loved it

SIX YEARS by Harlan Coben (audiobook) ~ good audio, not my favourite Coben

THE MIDWIFE: A MEMOIR OF BIRTH, JOY AND HARD TIMES by Sandra Worth ~ well worth the read even if you've watched the TV series Call the Midwife.

  1. The hottie is so cute! And looks like hot cocoa and mug too. Lover the warmer on the mug. Great idea. Better luck with the walking for the coming week! I enjoyed The Witness, although I read it rather than listened to the audio. I'll see what you say and if it's good narration will get it for my sister.
Happy reading for the coming week.

  2. I was disappointed that I hated Four Friends. I'm a HUGE Carr fan, especially Virgin River and Thunder Point but I couldn't stand Sonja at all and ended up quitting the book at 38%. :( I'm glad you enjoyed it, I wanted to. The Witness is one of Nora's I haven't gotten around to yet, it's on the ever growing TBR list. :)

  4. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time is one of my favourite books! I glad you enjoyed it. I think I last read the book about several years ago...I wouldn't mind reading it again. :)

  5. I find that Nora Roberts stand-alone romantic suspense books are great on audios and perfect companions when walking! I loved The Witness! Have you listened to Whiskey Beach or The Search? Those are really good, too. I have The Collector, her newest, on my list to get next.

I have Stolen Remains on order - it's due to come in this week. Can't wait to read that one.

Have a great week and hope you get inspired to walk this week. I started back up with training for my next 1/2 marathon...it's in 11 weeks...eek!!!

  7. I am glad you had a nice Mother's Day and I am sure you can't wait till your grandchild is born. How exciting!

I look forward to hearing what you think of Take Me On. I will probably read that next. Hope it turns out to be as good as the rest of the series even though West was kind of a jerk in the last book.
