A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. Thanks Sheila!
Long weekend here, we had a busy day Saturday cleaning up in our garage, then a movie night with my best friend and her hubby. I can't stand Tom Cruise but Edge of Tomorrow was pretty awesome. Then yesterday we fed my serious Viking addiction finishing season 1 and 1/2 of season 2. Have you seen it? ... OMG this show is brutal (but the history was) and I love it!
Counting down the days til our 1st grandchild arrives ... 2 weeks give or take and we're just a wee bit excited.
#bookblogwalkers update #21: Felicia's Book Blog Walkers: I walked 3 days this week, and ran around the garden like a mad thing with Bella. Not a flying start to June but not a bad effort.

Can't watch brutal. I sit there with my eyes closed! So exciting to be a soon to be new grandmother. Love new babes in the family.
ReplyDeleteI loved The Collector and have purchased it on audio for my sister, so will see what you think of the audio - although a bit late if it's no good! I did like The Witness on audio. I haven't read any of Jodi Picoult's for awhile now, although read all her earlier ones.
Sh! Happy to see someone else got off to a low key walking start for June. Me too. And today Monday, its raining heavily enough to put me off, however I did get the weekend in. A week of rain forecast - meh!
I'm enjoying The Collector on audio so far Kathryn so I think you made a good choice for your sister, and like you I thought The Witness on audio was great.
DeleteHave you read Jodi Picoult's The Storyteller? I think I've read everything of hers and been disappointed in a few of her later ones but The Storyteller was brilliant.
Well I have no excuse Kathryn lol, no rain here, I should take Bella for a walk now. Well done getting the weekend in! While your weather is yuk, you could try one of those free walking videos I posted about?? or not haha
I'm glad I'm not the only movie viewer who doesn't like Tom Cruise. I'll admit I've enjoyed several of his performances, but in general, I avoid him. Congratulations on the coming grandchild! :-)
ReplyDeleteRunning around the garden is good too :) I ran after my cat, lol. Anyway BF told I looked a bit thinner, I think it has paid off. I think I got a few new muscles in my back, maybe.
ReplyDeletenice mix of reads.
ReplyDeleteChristmas at the Beach sounds like a good idea, both for a book title and for a vacation.

I am sooooo not a Tom Cruise fan (he doesn't believe in ADHD ...and ummmm Adam has it ... so there you go! LOL!!) ... but I know Brian wants to see it ... I will tell him that you liked it!! I am so excited for the grandbaby to get here!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I bet you are counting the days! Vikings like Game of Thrones is too violent for me, hubby likes it though.
ReplyDeleteRead on!

Wow, we're reading similar things lately. I read, and loved, the audiobook of The Collector, and I'm going to be starting The Witness next. :) Hopefully it'll be just as enjoyable. The Collector was GREAT, my 2nd favorite standalone of Nora's, after Blue Smoke.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a little bit of Vikings but not enough to really know the story... curious about it though. I'm not a huge Tom Cruise fan although I like some of his older movies... Emily Blunt I like she was good in Adjustment Bureau- if you ever saw that.
ReplyDeleteI have both Ten Beach Road and Goodnight June in my reading piles. Didn't realize that Ten Beach Road is a series. That's more incentive for me to start it. Enjoy the week ahead.

Glad someone else dislikes Tom Cruise like me. :) I can't wait to see what you think of Little Mercies. I have that on my list! Happy reading - enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting about your first grandchild!
I enjoyed The Collector. I hope the audio is good. I'll be watching your blog for the birth announcement. Do they know if it is a boy or a girl?
ReplyDeleteCome see my week here. Happy reading!
I can't stand Tom Cruise either! I remember many years ago enjoying him...I wonder what changed? Oh, his EGO got huge, perhaps? LOL
ReplyDeleteI am also looking forward to Little Mercies...I need to read Little Lies right away.
And Goodnight June! Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
Would like to read The Collector by Nora Roberts. Those drinks are so red and pretty.
ReplyDeleteNot a Tom Cruise fan either....but he has made some very enjoyable movies. I think he's ego shines through a little too much.
ReplyDeleteYou're now ahead of me with Vikings...I need to catch up but at the moment and indulging in the Sons of Anarchy series and can't seem to focus on anything else lol.
You've been reading some fabulous books this year Teddyree and making my 'to-read' pile expand!
I started watching Vikings, but got distracted by something else. Tomorrow we will find out if my daughter needs to go on bed rest for her final 2.5 weeks, she is very upset about it, but we will get through it by watching some series on Netflix, maybe Vikings. I am not a fan of Tom either, but thought the movie looked good. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteOh and that's a beautiful photo of your son and daughter-in-law. You should be proud of the photos you are taking...they are stunning.
ReplyDeleteOnly two weeks till the love of your life arrives? Woo hoo :) Because we all know the kid ceases to be that one the grandkid arrives ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great start to the summer, with a new grandchild! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThe Wendy Wax series looks really good, I will have to check them out.
