A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. Thanks Sheila!
What a busy, busy week. It started with my skin check (many of you know my mother passed away from early stage melanoma on the top of her head) and I had a very anxious 24 hour wait for results on what specialist thought may have been a pink melanoma. Thankfully I got the all clear but once again it's timely for me to remind everyone of the importance of regular skin checks!!
Monday to Friday in Chinchilla and lots of special time with my granddaughter.
love the little cutiepie (9 weeks)
Not much happened on my blog while I was away (I'm disappointed blog fairies didn't write a few reviews for me ... slackers!!) but I'll catch up on reviews and blog visits this week, I promise. HA

ReplyDeleteLove the happy picture of Mia! Those smiles and laughs are awesome. So glad you got the all clear. If I am not playing, holding or fawning over Cole, I am reading so my blog didn't have any action last week either.
ReplyDeleteYes, I keep thinking must phone to make appointment for skin check. If there is one thing I would do differently in my life - and it could only be one - I would choose to stay out of the sun and use sun block. But we didn't know! Sun was meant to be healthy - which it is but not without care.
ReplyDeleteI so want to read Accidents of Marriage and I am looking at Come What May - off to Goodreads to check out the previous one.
Sorry blog fairies have decided to go on holiday at the same time as yourself! Gorgeous baby photo!
Just back to say the first book Seldom Come By was a $1.86 on Amazon for Kindle so... now its on my ereader for future happiness.
DeleteYAY Kathryn, hope you get to it soon, it's just beautiful and OMG shocking and Sherryl is a sweetheart!
DeleteAs far as the skin checks go Kathryn, sometimes melanoma occurs because of a genetic pre-disposition regardless of how vigilant you've been with sun protection. Melanoma has a good survival rate if detected early, unfortunately my mum was in the 3% who don't survive stage 1 melanoma.
DeletePS Accidents of Marriage was excellent, I think you'd like it :)
Yes, had an aunt die of melanoma but don't think it was genetic, she was a market gardener and out in the sun a lot. Yes, really looking forward to both those books.
DeleteDang those blog fairies ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for a good check.up
Thank goodness you got the all clear. I tried to get Accidents of Marriage through Netgalley but fAiled. I liked Bitter Greens which I read sometime back. Quite a chunks yet that
