A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. Thanks Sheila!
On the home front:
What a fabulous start to the New Year; time with friends and then a long weekend away with my beautiful family at the coast. We had the the best time; laughs, fun, perfect weather, cocktails, swimming and a few firsts, one being Mia's first trip to the beach ... can't wait to do it again.
One Little Word
I've done Ali Edwards One Little Word #OLW for 3 or 4 years now ... my word for 2014 was EMBRACE. When I first started doing OLW I chose a word, now I wait and it chooses me.
This word focuses my intention for the year, it's a guidepost and often a lighthouse when things get a little stormy. My word for 2015 is CHOOSE ... more on it soon :)
Do any of you choose a word for the year?

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Looks like such a wonderful time away!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading this week! First Frost sounds really good. May have to add to my list.
I love the family photos. Your granddaughter is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of a word for the year and I think you picked a good one! I am participating in Fit Readers this year but I don't have a Fitbit. I would love to get one at some point to encourage me to be more active. I spend so much time at a desk or in a chair at home.
I am glad you are enjoying First Frost. I really liked it. I want to read Leaving Time too.
There is nothing better than family time at the beach! We used to do that...time to get back into it.
ReplyDeleteI loved Leaving Time...and The Silent Sister. Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week.
i've only read First Frost from your list. Magical read
DeleteBeautiful pictures! And I love your one word - and also how you let your word choose you!
ReplyDeleteOh gorgeous photos. Love your Aussie beaches. I bought a swimsuit for myself in Mia's style! Not the colour but same upper style. Expensive but worth it because cover up at my age all helps for wrinkles and sun!
ReplyDeleteI chose a word once or twice, but not lately, might rethink that as been seeing quite a few posts.Like your choose word.
I enjoyed First Frost, loved the family. Good luck with work on your blog, I am shifting to wordpress this year with help of Ashley form Nose Graze so that I can use a few plugins to make life easier! I like comment luv too it helps to go to the other person's blog when they have left a comment. Although has been a lot easier since took your suggestion up of getting comments emailed! I don't miss comments out anymore.
I got Chadwick Elenor 1 for xmas so gotta read that one :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteFirst Frost is everywhere today! I can't wait to get my hands on it. Enjoy your week!
I'm not I could go to the beach in December, even if I moved to Australia. It just wouldn't "feel" right. :-)
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, I miss the beach as I look outside the window and see 5 inches of snow. Looks like you had a fun day. Great word for the coming year. Leaving Time and First Frost are on my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! The beach sounds so nice right about now. I'm enjoying First Frost - taking my time reading it. Have a good week and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGreat famil pics and the beach looks like fun! Glad you had a great New Years. I keep seing First Frost and may want to read that one.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done the word of the year thing. (Or the resolution thing really!)
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures - all stunning.
Am keen to read The Silent Sister as I've heard so much about it! (All good!)
Deb
I love that you let the word CHOOSE you. I've never taken the time to come up with a word, but I can see how it would focus you.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! Your reading selections look great. I just joined #fitreaders and look forward to starting. Good Luck with your goals.
