It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. In Sheila's absence, join in sharing your Monday post on twitter #IMWAYR.

On the home front:
An emotional week and a big newsy post, just not on the reading side of things! Bear with me, I'm sure things will get back to normal after Callum's 21st :)

I only get back to Toowoomba a few times a year (even though it's only a 2hr drive from Brisbane) so it was nice to take flowers out to mum at the Garden of Remembrance and spend time with a friend of 25 years. We had the yummiest lunch at the best Italian restaurant in town ... WoggiesDoesn't the dessert look gorgeous? Chocolate Bowl Strawberry Milkshake Gelato and it tasted as good as it looks!

This special package arrived from my lovely friend Julie. All the way from M&M's World in Las Vegas to Brisbane, Australia ... a year's supply of M&M's haha and a cute M&M blanket for Mia. Feeling very spoilt, thanks Julie, you're an absolute sweetie pie xx

Check out Julie's blog too, she's a talented scrapbooker :))

And the final bit of awesomeness this week ... a surprise for Nonna :)

Lots to look forward to this week, Ricky Martin concert on Tuesday and my youngest son's 21st Birthday on Friday. All the family will be here to celebrate on Saturday.

  1. She's walking! Awesome, I love it. It will be awhile yet for Cole. He just figured out the crawling thing. The dessert looks so good.

  2. How wonderful that your granddaughter is walking! Soon she will be running everywhere :)

I didn't get much reading done this week either. I came down with a cold and am only now starting to feel better so I spent a few hours reading this afternoon. For some reason when I'm sick it is too hard to concentrate on books. I watched lots of episodes of Friends on Netflix instead! I loved A Desperate Fortune and Rose Under Fire. Such an emotional book. It was gutting in a different way from Code Name Verity. I don't think I could have listened to the audio book especially since I listen to those while driving!

Hope you have a great week and happy 21st birthday to Callum!

  4. I did look up where Toowoomba is last week after visiting your blog! Dessert looks tops. Wowee walking. Loved the little video, I so adore all these little ones, it is so awesome to see them discovering and learning.
You sound busy with the 21st, hope it is really enjoyable. You'll come back fresh to reading once everything slows down - if it ever does!! Take care and have a great week.

  9. What a lovely surprise! I would have enjoyed having a way to make a video when my kids were little...we did have movie cameras, of course, but most of us didn't have them handy for those moments. The phone is such a convenient and quick way to document the delights of babies.

    Enjoy! And thanks for sharing.

That dessert does look yummy....enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  10. Oh how wonderful about Mia! She is such a beautiful little girl and now she is a mobile one, lol. Thanks for sharing. Brings back memories of my youngest walking before she turned 11 months old and startling us!

I do want to read Elizabeth Wein books someday, and you reminded me. I've heard of the Marconi series-- must check it out, and A Desperate Fortune is on my radar already to look out for.

    Have a relaxing week!
