It's Monday: Check-In Time

Linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? hosted by Sheila from Book JourneyIn Sheila's absence, share your Monday post on twitter #IMWAYR.

EEK June already, I seriously can't believe how fast the months are flying.

A quieter week with lots of cooking and a bit of relaxing and of course my granddaughter was here for her regular sleepover. Mia's mummy thought I should practice putting her very fine hair in pigtails. I had boys so I was thinking ... ooh girl fun!! After failing miserably, I opted for the beanie ;)

  1. Cute picture of Mia! It may not be pigtails but the beanie is adorable :)

I am adding The Color of Sky to my reading list. That book just sounds amazing. I'll have to tell my sister about it too. We both love reading books set in other cultures, especially India.

    1. It's pretty good so far, sad. Not sure if it's a debut, some of the writing is a little odd.

  4. Mia looks very cute in that beanie! My niece used to get my brother to practice her 'ballet bun' on a Barbie head (hairdressing thing) she had. I'm not sure it worked!

  6. You made me laugh with your attempt at a pigtails, anyway the hat is so cute! I didn't realise you were listening to the Nina George on audio, now that would be a whole different experience.
Victoria Purman has pretty much become an auto read for me now, she is a writer to keep!

    1. lol thanks Kathryn, I don't think Mia was amused. The audio is great, male narrator I haven't listened to before, very enjoyable.
Me too on Victoria Purman ... love her style

  7. Little girls have such fine hair. I remember trying to get my daughter's into little pigtails or just in a ponytail. The hat is cute and when her hair is a little thicker and a little longer, it will be easier. :-)

  9. Mia is just so cute!! My daughter hates having anything done to her hair. She wears a headband, because she can put it in herself. I think it's the whole independence phase right now. ;)

    Have a great week!!

  10. Mia looks adorable in the beanie! I'm terrible at hair stuff and my daughter hated having her hair messed with in anyway shape or form. I masted pigtails one time when she was about 6 before a soccer game. She spent the entire first quarter shaking her head and chanting "I don't want my hair in piggy tails." I'm so glad you're enjoying The Little Paris Bookshop! It's coming up on my list and I'm really looking forward to it. Have a great week!

  11. Ha-ha...I can relate to the girl hair issues...I've never been good with my own, and when I had a daughter after three sons...well, I finally settled on pony tails!

My daughter soon started doing her own hair...in self-defense? And now she is a hair stylist....funny, right?

I only have two granddaughters, and they never let me near their hair.

Okay...great week for you...and I definitely want to read The Little Paris Bookshop.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  17. Little Paris Bookshop looks really good and I wonder if your experience was made better by listening to it.
Mia, what can I say, so cute as always I want to hug her!
Sounds like you had a more relaxing week so here's to that. Take care and enjoy your grandbaby and books! (I used to put my youngest's long hair in a single braid down her back every day for school until she was old enough to put her foot down and say no).
