This week was an emotional one. A few people have asked if they can share my post about being the mother of an angel. The answer is a heartfelt yes. Share away ... it may touch someone you know experiencing loss. If we talk and share our experiences with death and grief, we learn and grow, we make it safe and 'comfortable' to share pain and we foster change and healing.

ReplyDeleteOn a bookish note, I was not swept away by the Backman book but that may be because magic and fantasy is not my favourite genre. It had its lovely moments but....
Oh your tribute to your angel was so beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for having the courage to share that! Have a great week ahead. And may I say that your blog design is just so perfect!

I have the new Fredrik Backman book for review so I'm curious to know your thoughts. We read his first book in my book group (A Man Called Ove) and it was really good.

Thanks for sharing your lovely tribute post about your daughter...I believe that sharing through talking and writing can help heal, and although I have not yet lost a child, but a sibling, my thoughts are with you.

ReplyDeleteThe Heartfelt Photography sounds like such a wonderful organization. I know it is not the same, but when Wyatt was born 7 weeks early with complication, he was whisked immediately to a specialized hospital, away from me. We never got newborn photos, and it is something that really bothered me. I know its not the same, but I can definitely can see what a special and loving service your group is providing to parents. Thank you for sharing your story with all of us.

I just read your post about your daughter. It was beautiful, tear inducing and lovely all in one. My heart was with you while reliving your pain.
ReplyDeleteAs my mom said when I lost my daughters after birth- you don't get over it, you get through it. You don't forget. You don't stop grieving.
Not your usual step count, but that's okay... You are still on that journey and checking in! I also had low counts for Friday - Sunday. But today... back in action!
