It's Sunday/Monday: Check-In Time

Linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? hosted by Sheila from Book JourneyIn Sheila's absence, share your Monday post on twitter #IMWAYR.

On the home front:
Great week for awesome reads and family stuff, not so great on the sleeping or blogging side of things. I walked to keep my mind off pain (sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't.) Shame the extra hours awake didn't translate into reviews nailed but I like to leave myself room for improvement ;)

Back to the specialist this week, hope he's got something else in his bag of tricks because what he's offered up lately sucks.  And yay scrapbook camp at the end of the week, hoping my hands play nice, I'd like to exercise something other than my mouth! I don't have anything organised so maybe I won't be reading lol.

We had a fun day at the Ekka (QLD Royal Show) with DIL and granddaughter. She loved the huge animal nursery, I think it's my favourite part of the show too. As a little thing I grew up on a farm and I still love feeding the baby animals :)

I don't go on these spinning rides any more but I love to take photos of the pretty ones and this vintage chairswing is just gorgeous

clowns normally creep me out. this one, not so much :)

my favourite food at the Ekka is the Strawberry Sundae. To-die-for icecream. All profits go to the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation so it's a good excuse to eat more than one

  1. Awe, it looks like you had a fun day. We took Sophia to the Children's museum yesterday. Hope they figure things out for you at the Doctors. Keeping you in my thoughts.

  3. What fun! I love the animal shows and the pictures with the baby chick are adorable. Hopefully this specialist will get things figured out or at least help. That sounds awful. On the plus side you got some great books this week! I love the look of The Little Flower Shop by the Sea and I've enjoyed the books I've read by Kristin Higgins. Have a great week!

  4. As someone who lives with chronic pain, I hope that you feel better soon and the doctor can help you out!
The baby is growing up so fast, and she's such a cutie in those photos. All of the pics are very good so thanks for sharing them. I read Black-Eyed Susans and loved it too. I want to read My Grandmother Asked Me... and something by Kate Forsyth. Have a better week, Sheree!

I am glad you had a good time with your family. The picture of Mia with the chick is so cute!

  6. Have a great week! The show looks like fun, and I can't do the radical rides anymore- no more spinning through the air for me. LOL. And On Rue Tatin looks like an interesting read.

  7. Oh Teddyree I hope you get some answers soon and hope you have a better (and more painfree) week this week.

As you would have seen from my post... we're off to the Ekka as well, but predominantly to watch my niece perform in the fashion shows. I love all of your pics but must confess I cringed hoping my family members don't want to do and see bl**dy animals etc... :-)

  8. Hate to know you have to put up with so much pain, I guess that keeps you awake at night too. Hope the scrapbooking camp goes great.
Love the pics of the fair, looks like some interaction there for Mia with the animals - so cute.
I know I will be wanting to read most of the books you are going to review, except for the thrillers which I don't do on the whole so well. I've never tried a Barbara Hannay book but have seen her books on the shelves. Great walking your numbers are looking fabulous.

Hope your hands feel better soon....it is hard to wait for the doctors to figure out what works.

Enjoy your week...scrapbooking and reading or whatever. Thanks for visiting my blog.

It makes me so happy that you loved Black-Eyed Susans!! That's one I have to buy a hard copy for my shelves as soon as it's released.

  14. I hope the doctor is able to help you, I know how frustrating it can be and I'm sorry you're in pain :( Gage has had bad acid reflux for a month and a half and so far no dr or specialist has been able to help. Good luck to both us to find answers! You should check out the book I reviewed today and check out the authors website. Might give you another place to look :)
