It's Sunday/Monday: Check-In Time

Linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? hosted by Sheila from Book JourneyIn Sheila's absence, share your Monday post on twitter #IMWAYR.

On the home front:
You might have noticed I've been MIA the last few weeks. Between my own appointments and the last 10 days with my little granddaughter very sick the days have been filled with doctors, hospital visits and helping out. What started out as strep throat turned out to be Influenza A for poor little Mia. My daughter-in-law is also sick and unfortunately timing being what it is, my son was doing a 3 week work swing to make up for his time off with illness ... tough all round.

My blog had to take a back seat for a while but I'm looking forward to catch up visits and commenting. Fingers crossed things are a little less chaotic this coming week.

Scrapbook retreat seems like so long ago now, but I'll post some photos of layouts next week.

  1. So much sickness and poor Mia - it's hard when they're little. I'm languishing with an end-of-season flu at the moment and feeling sorry for myself.

Hope everyone improves at your end soon!

  11. Have been concerned and good to see you back. Poor Mia, I heard on our news that the flu is extra horrible this season and the worst could still be on its way. Yikes. Nothing worse when little ones are sick.
Will need to watch out for a few of these reviews to see if they are 'me'. I have The Precious Ones marked to listen to as audio. Interested to see what you have to say about The Water Diviner - maybe not good for me, can't walk down the street bawling my eyes out!
Great stats for walking, amazing 16000 there. Hope your coming week is more flu free.

  12. Oh dear! I hope that everyone is on the mend. It is scary when babies get sick, especially when they can't tell us what is going on with them. I see a few books that I need to put on my TBR list!

  15. So sorry to hear that everyone has been sick. Hope it's all over now.

I think I need to stop visiting book blogs -- I keep finding books to lust after.

  16. So sorry Mia and her Mamma have been so sick, they're lucky to have you to help them out. Hope everyone is on the mend this week...and that you can catch up on some rest yourself.

I recently read a Paullina Simons novel that wrecked me for weeks....so I promptly went out and bought some more titles. Such a fabulous author. I will be keen to read your review of Lone Star.

  19. Hm. What happened to my first comment?
So sorry to hear about Mia. Babes getting sick is the worst and when babe and mama are sick at the same time? Well, that's why grandmothers were made!
