It's Sunday/Monday: Check-In Time

Linking up with Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? now hosted by Kathryn @Book Date

On the home front:
Up and down this week, literally. Another fall, this time at the neurologist's (how embarrassing) and another twisted ankle to slow down my walking. Anyway it fast-tracked a treatment option so maybe the embarrassment was worth it lol.

I did catch up with my girlfriend of 25+ years, her gorgeous daughter is also my hairdresser so my hair is cut, coloured and ready for Christmas.

Mia had her usual sleepover, she's an energiser bunny at the moment and such a hoot ... fun, laughs and exhaustion for all :)

I haven't put the Christmas tree up, made Christmas cards or done any Christmas shopping ... eek. Please tell me someone is as disorganised as me? I swear every year I'm not going to leave things til the last minute and yet here I am ... again!

Isn't this tree stunning, I think it's a flame tree but I'm no expert. Such a contrast against the all the lush green and blue of the sky I had to stop and take a photo.

#FitReaders Weekly Check-In

#FitReaders co-hosted by Felicia @ Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and Jen @ That’s What I’m Talking AboutFitReaders is a great way to stay motivated, accountable and it's more fun having bloggy friends to check in with. If you also have a fitbit and want to add me, let me know :)

Here it is December and another month of exercise and keeping heart healthy. Still made my target despite resting my ankle mid week and needing a couple of lighter days for being a bit stiff and sore.
I missed doing the screen shot of activity last night so back to the old way.

Fitbit Steps:
Mon: 10,942 steps ~ walk
Tue: 13,924 steps ~ walk with Bella & swim
Wed: 5059 steps ~ icing my foot lol
Thurs: 10,960 steps ~ walk with Bella
Fri: 7455 steps
Sat: 11,466 steps ~ running after the energiser bunny
Sun: 6757 steps ~ short walk

This Week's Reading List:

THE EYE OF THE SHEEP by Sofie Laguna ~ I bought this one almost a year ago and there it sat #mybad. After reading Deb's glowing review it's a priority.

JUST SAY YES by Alyssa Goodnight ~ picked up this one after Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer sang its praises.

LITTLE BEACH STREET BAKERY by Jenny Colgan (audiobook) ~ only an hour to go. This was fun!

THE INNOCENT by Taylor Stevens (Vanessa Michael Munroe #2) ~ I'm in the mood for more audio

************

Reviews Coming:

COME FULL CIRCLE by Sherryl Caulfield (Iceberg Trilogy #3) ~ totally worth the wait, I loved it!!

THE INFORMATIONIST by Taylor Stevens (Vanessa Michael Munroe #1) ~ (audiobook)
Michael is an unusual character and I'm looking forward to continuing the series ... hopefully on audio, the narrator Hillary Huber is great.

    1. me too Nise` ... I think it'll be great to listen to an audio where I'm already familiar with the characters, at least I'll be reading while I get my Christmas stuff done. The Innocent was a library borrow too, so even better lol

  3. Yikes, sorry to hear about your fall! Hope it's not hurting too much. I sprained my ankle in the hospital once... was sitting in the waiting room and got up, foot was asleep and I moved too fast-that was embarassing too. :)

That is a beautiful tree, nice pic!

  4. It's okay Teddyree I'm as disorganised as you. I put up a few decorations yesterday (meagre effort - including one piece of tinsel and no tree) and haven't really done any shopping. I 'accidentally' bought a rashie for a 6mth old I don't even need to buy for... but apart from that, nada.

Sorry to hear about your fall and injury! Take care. x

  5. I hope your ankle is feeling better!

I haven't done anything for Christmas either. It just doesn't feel like Christmas yet. I meant to work on Christmas cards today but it didn't happen.

That picture is lovely! What a view!

  7. I hope that treatment from the neurologist is helpful, sorry to hear of the fall though and the ankle - ouch. You still got great steps in though. I was wondering how you were getting on with Along the Infinite Sea, I had to keep reading it too from half way along, on a Kindle I am never tempted to look at the back page!! Too much trouble, but a paperback now I have been known to cheat! Good I have The Things We Keep to read and review too.
Might try a Jenny Colgan audio at some point.
That tree is totally beautiful. Like a Christmas tree in itself.
Take care - enjoy your times with Mia. My sister set up her crib and then her little grand daughter rearranged it all and put in some pink pig they all the kids like!

    1. That's my Christmas wish Kathryn :)
Even though it took me ages to read Along the Infinite Sea I really enjoyed it, not sure whether the first half was slow or if it was just me. haha I've never read the last page of a book to find out the ending no matter how much the suspense is killing me.

  8. We are still thinking about the tree here. I would love a real one as Luci has had 2 xmasses, maybe he would not destroy it this year- But then he is one evil cat so... ;)

  10. Sorry to hear about the fall .. I hope you are ok now! I was on vacay this past week, spent mostly in the house working on handmade Christmas gifts, so my walking #'s are veryyyyyyy down for this past week! LOL!!!

  11. Maybe the fall was really one of those 'blessing in disguise' moments... hope the treatment is successful. Just know I'm going to love Along the Infinite Sea when I get to it. Have a good week :)

  12. Sorry to hear about your ankle, I hope you're on the mend now! It does sound like there was a 'silver lining' to the fall - as silly as that sounds!

The tree you shared is just beautiful, the overall image itself is just wonderful.

I hope you enjoy your books this week!

  13. Gorgeous pic. Its so nice to see things are green and in bloom somewhere. We're rather brown in my area. Sorry about the fall!
I have some of the Christmas decor up but only when one of the kids stops by to help. I knew they'd come in handy one day, ha. Have a good week!

  14. Sorry about your ankle! Having Christmas during lovely weather seems wrong, somehow...LOL, but you are used to it, of course.

I'm glad you enjoyed The Things We Keep...I have it to read soon.

I like the image of Mia as the energizer bunny...you could use Mia-watching as part of your fitness regime.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for stopping by my blog.

  15. I loved Just Say Yes and hope you do as well. Ooo falls are not good my friend especially with Mia. Hope you are up and running soon!

  16. So sorry about your ankle! That's such a pain literally and figuratively! The tree is gorgeous! I don't know if that's a flame tree either but if it isn't called that it should be. I love your reading list this week. The Little Beach Street Bakery especially caught my eye. Have a great week!

  17. So sorry about your fall but glad it moved things up for you. I am not in the Christmas spirit this year at all with it being the 1st since my son's death. The grandchildren are what are keeping me from skipping it this year entirely.

    Have a great week!

  18. Hope you are feeling better after your injury! Your photo is breathtaking, by the way.
As you can see I'm back blogging again, just can't leave :)
I now want to read The Eye of the Sheep after Deb's review and your mention of it. Will check our library next time I stop in. Enjoy your week and your overnights with that delicious Mia!

  19. Owie! I'm sorry to read about your ankle. I turned my right foot when stepping on something while running in early August so I know how you feel. Elevate and ice. I have the first and third books on my TBR.

  20. Sorry to hear about your injury and I hope you feel better. I just put up our Christmas tree but I don't do Christmas cards anymore. Since all of our friends and family are on Facebook I just do a digital card there. I know it feels impersonal but it is always hard to get a good picture of my family for the card so I would run out of time to get the cards out. So doing it on Facebook is easier lol. That is a beautiful picture! I hope you have a great week!

  22. Looks like you loved Along the Infinite Sea like I did?

I have The Things We Keep...heartbreaking and heartwarming, huh?

I want to read Little Beach Street Bakery.

Looks like you had a great week and a good one coming up for you this week.

That is such a stunning photo. No Christmas tree up, yet?! I think my OCD would be in overdrive if I waited this long. LOL. :)
