Last Sunday/Monday of the Year: Check-In Time

Linking up with Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? now hosted by Kathryn @Book Date

We had a wonderful Christmas with all the family, Mia was a joy. Feeling very blessed that our Christmas was filled with so much family time, love and laughter. We were all very spoilt, ate way too much, strawberry daiquiris were a hit, an evening swim hit the spot, raucous fun in the pool on Boxing Day and a family get-together on Sunday before my sister and family leave to teach in Indonesia for 12 months.

And my granddaughter is the cutest dancing elf I've ever seen lol

I adore the the angel wing I received for Christmas ... "There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are you will always be in my heart."

I'm also looking forward to Sheila's First book of the Year 2016. Tough choice but I've finally decided ... yay! Head over to Book Journey to sign up.

  1. I'm glad you had a nice Christmas! Your granddaughter is a cute elf!!! And I love the expression on your dog's face :)

I didn't get as much read this week as I'd hoped though I did finish one book. I also ate too many sweets though I did walk on the treadmill a few days. Just figuring out how to use the Fitbit but my number of steps is depressingly low!

Happy New Year! I think I know what book I will be starting the year with but I'm going to look for a backup book in case I want something lighter.

    1. Yay, you're on Fitbit, don't be too hard on yourself Christina, building up your steps is good ... sustainable! Bella loves her walk, just not in that get-up lol. Happy New Year, I can't wait to see everyone's picks for 1st Book

  2. Oh gosh, Mia is so cute and getting so tall. Love the angel wing. Very special. Must check out the Alyssa Goodnight book, I see Laurel-Rain has it too.
I read more than I thought this past week, although with the heat I get very dozy in the afternoon. Can't wait to see what you have chosen for 1st book!

  4. Your Christmas sounded perfect and Mia is so cute! I'm in the middle of a Kristan Higgins audiobook/kindle. It's typical KH which is why I chose to read it during this busy/relaxing time. Looking forward to seeing your First Book later this week!

  10. Great week for walking! Bella looks less than enthused! I haven't read anything or listened to any books since before Christmas. I'm in withdrawal. Looking forward to more in 2016!!

  11. Cute pictures. I've spent most of the past week on my couch with my main walking being from couch to refrigerator. That doesn't make for very many steps. Here is what I read last week. Happy reading!

  14. Mia is definitely the cutest elf....and she obviously captures the hearts of all of you (and us).

Enjoy these years, to help you through the teenage ones...LOL.

Actually, I enjoyed my teenage grandchildren, probably because I didn't live with them. Now there are five teens and two twenty-somethings in my group.

Enjoy your books...I am excited about Just Say Yes, too. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  17. Christmas with children is so much fun. I love my fitbit. I need to get back to using it as motivation. Most days I just wear it and I'm not worried about how many steps I get, but I want to start pushing myself again.
