A bit of a crazy week
My eldest son was airlifted from his work site to Roma hospital during the week with chest pain and difficulty breathing, which turned out to be pneumonia and pleurisy. A few days in hospital with IV antibiotics and pain meds and he is back home in Brisbane to recuperate. His work company were superheroes and the treating Doctors in Roma far less so ...
When you are on your own, 6 hours from family and Doctors treat you like a mushroom despite repeatedly asking for information on your condition, it's more than a little stressful. I rang the hospital, spoke to his Doctor and played the 'nurse card' (shoot me, I may have over stated my current nursing status lol) Ok I lied and said I was still practicing. Last time I checked Doctors aren't God. This Doctor said to me "Oh I didn't realise you were a nurse. Good, I don't have to talk down to you." Seriously WTH??
Failing to communicate 'relevant' information to a patient does not violate ethical principles but Doctor's arrogance should be grounds for complaint.
Antibiotics have cleared the infection but does anyone have any home remedies that help with the pain of dry pleurisy?
On a make-my-heart-happy note ... Stacy from Stacy's Books runs 5 word movie reviews for charity throughout the year. She also posts awesome book quizzes, insightful reviews and she's a supermum with a beautiful heart. Anyway, I topped the 5 word Movie Reviews this time around and chose Heartfelt in memory of my daughter Taleah, as the charity. Thanks to Stacy's generosity 2 families experiencing the unimaginable loss of a baby receive the gift of photographic memories.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Stacy xx
