What Are You Reading On Monday

A weekly event hosted by J. Kaye’s Book Blog to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week.

Had a terrible week, laid low by influenza, hubby had the week off work, and my 15 year & I wanted to crawl into a hole and die for at least a few days. Coming out the other side, you know you're starting to feel better (even if you won't admit it) when your husband only has to look at you and you find it annoying LOL.

No soccer training & no housework meant no audiobook listened to, but I did manage to finish 2 books later in the week when my eyeballs stopped feeling like someone was poking them with a pencil. So this week will be catch up week again - reviews (which have been sadly lacking) and poor overloaded Google Reader has indigestion at 1000 + so sorry if I have missed visiting you.

Also have a competition coming up for Frantic by Aussie author Katherine Howell so be sure to come back and visit.

  1. Glad to hear that you are on the mend!

  2. At least you should get a little bit of reading done this week. You'll be to tired to do much else while you're recovering!

  3. I'm sorry you were sick. I was sick last week and I had to stay in the bathroom since every hour I had to puke. It was so horrible I couldn't even keep water down.

  4. "...when my eyeballs stopped feeling like someone was poking them with a pencil."

I can't read when I am sick. So impressed you were able to. All I can say is bless your heart. I don't do the sickbed thing very well. Glad to have you back!

  5. Glad you are well again, I hate being sick - and it's even worse when more than one of you is sick. I hope to get to read Coraline soon as well!

  6. Thanks for the get better wishes.

Rachel ~ oh you poor thing, nothing worse than puking for days, uggh!

LOL J.Kaye, I don't do sickbed well either but I guess I do it better than the males in my family.

I like sympathy and tlc or I get grouchier and that's pretty hard when everyone's sick. I'm just grateful to be over the worst!

  7. I am glad you are feeling well again. It looks like you have been reading some pretty good books lately. Lots of 5 stars

  8. Glad you're feeling better Sheree. You read more when you're sick then when I'm well lol.....

  9. Hope you're feeling better now. I can never read when i'm sick.

Some good books on your list for this week.
    Happy Reading!!

    Slip Carefully

  10. I'm so sorry about you feeling sick. I hope it doesn't happen again, since I just followed a link to your blog and LOVE IT!

You just got yourself a follower! I'm also adding you to my blog roll! So there! :)

  11. Glad to know you're getting past the illness now. I am chronically ill and I hate that I can't read when I'm feeling sick. I hope you're enjoying The Painted Veil. I read it recently and liked it very much. But then I've always loved Maugham. I watch for your thoughts on it. Hope you have a better week, especially for reading. Take care.

  12. It's good to hear that you're feeling better :) My google reader had 1000 + yesterday, today I'm down to 44(didn't leave a comment on all the 1000 plus post but skimmed through them.). It's a tough job LOL, I don't like it when it's over 100 unread posts.

  13. Teddyree, glad you're feeling better. Yikes on the reader. I think I'd zero it out and start fresh :)

  14. Good to hear that everyone is coming back to life!!!Sounds like you did some great reading last week and your list sounds great for this week!!

  15. thanks for following me!
    i'm following you too now!
i guess it's just finding the right books. i've always loved reading.
and you read Vision In White. i've always wanted to challenge myself to read every single Nora Roberts book. the JD Robb books sound a little meh to me.
maybe i'll have to buy Vision In White on the sole reason that you gave it five stars.
Nora Roberts, already rich, will become even richer and it's all thanks to you.
    yay you.

  16. I am glad that you are feeling better now. Good luck with your reading this week! Neil Gaiman is one of my fave authors. Thanks for commneting and visiting my blog!
    Big Hugs, Bethxx

  17. Glad you're feeling better, I'm such a baby too when I'm sick!

Can't wait to read your thoughts on Coraline - I've got a that & The Graveyard Book on my 'to read' list.

  18. I really liked Dime Store Magic. I have the next book in the series waiting to be read but I've gotten so behind in books lol.

I wonder how Coraline is going on audiobook =) I hope well.
