Synopsis: Tough to
tame, but not too tough to love…
Charlie
Allington is supposed to be on the fast track to the top—a small-town girl who
was making it big in her career. Instead, she's reeling from a scandal that's
pretty much burned all her bridges. Now, out of options, she needs a place to
lick her wounds and figure out her future. True, working at a ski resort in
rugged Jackson Hole, Wyoming, isn't her dream job. But if there's one perk to
coming back, it's a certain sexy hometown boy who knows how to make a girl feel
welcome.
Cowboy
Walker Pearce never expected a grown-up Charlie to be temptation in tight
jeans. She's smart and successful—way out of league for a man like him. But
he's not about to let that, or his secrets, get in the way of their blazing-hot
attraction. Yet when passion turns to something more, will the truth—about both
of them—send her out of his life for good…or into his arms forever?
Karen's Thoughts:
I reviewed book two in this series, Too Hot to Handle earlier this year and only gave it 2.5 stars. I was keen to keep reading the series as I really like Victoria Dahl's writing and I’m happy to report that I really enjoyed So Tough To Tame.
I reviewed book two in this series, Too Hot to Handle earlier this year and only gave it 2.5 stars. I was keen to keep reading the series as I really like Victoria Dahl's writing and I’m happy to report that I really enjoyed So Tough To Tame.
There was a lot going on with the storyline and I’m
not completely happy that everything was addressed as fully as it could have
been. With all the drama in Charlie’s job I felt like it was all tied up a
little too easily.
I tell you though, hot cowboy Walker made up for
everything else. Both Charlie and Walker have issues with self-confidence
and things could have gone a lot smoother for them if they had been honest with
themselves and open with each other, but I felt that what they went through was
understandable. I love to read about characters that have very real issues,
such as Walker’s dyslexia and how it affected his family life and the way he
feels about himself.
“I don’t date cowboys anymore. Not since
college.”
“Why not?”
She chuckled and leaned up to brush her mouth along
his jaw.
“Because, Walker…I have it on good authority that
cowboys don’t go down.”
She heard his breath suck in in surprise; then his
chest shook on a rumble of laughter. “Who told you that?”
“Some rodeo cowboy I went out with once.”
He shook his head and looked down at her. His
hand slid lower on her back until his fingers were resting against the top of
her ass. “Darlin,” he drawled, “you’ve been dating the wrong
cowboys.”
Let’s just say that Walker showed her exactly how a
real cowboy should treat his girl.
