2015 Challenge Fun :)

Gone are the days where I signed up for dozens of challenges because I couldn't resist a pretty button. I've been quite hopeless at updating challenges so I thought I'd better keep it simple ;)

and this year I promise to make a bigger effort (yup I promised last year too ... big FAIL) and actually update my challenge progress on the relevant websites or blogs. I love participating and even complete most of the challenges but fail dismally at linking reviews and doing completion posts.

On that note ... does anyone have any ideas/tips for helping me pass this personal challenge?? lol

2015 Australian Women Writers Challenge:
Hosted by Australian Women Writers #aww2015
I love this challenge, each year I've participated I've read so many more wonderful novels by Australian women authors (4 made my 2014 favourite reads list, which I haven't actually posted yet lol.)  The last couple of years I've chosen the Franklin level so this year I'm upping the ante and going with Create your own challenge: I'm aiming for 20 books

Challenge Levels: read only, or read and review

Stella: read 4 – if reviewing, review at least 3
Miles: read 6 – if reviewing, review at least 4
Franklin: read 10 – if reviewing, review at least 6

I'm waiting on the sign-up post for the 2015 Historical Fiction Reading Challenge. After many years hosting Historical Tapestry has passed the challenge on to Amy of Passages to the Past. Love Amy ... I'm sure she'll be a brilliant host :)

2015 Aussie Author Challenge: hosted by Jo at Booklover Book Reviews #aussieauthor.
Last year I picked the Kangaroo level but only read 1 male Aussie author so this year I'm going with the Kangaroo level and I'm aiming to pass this challenge!

Kangaroo level:

– Read and review 12 titles written by Australian Authors of which at least 4 of those authors are female, at least 4 of those authors are male, and at least 4 of those authors are new to you;
– At least 6 fiction and at least 2 non-fiction, and at least 2 titles first published in 2014 or 2015.

2015 GoodReads Reading Challenge: I've downsized on my GoodReads challenge this year to lessen the pressure. I'm aiming for 80 books in 2015. Reverse psychology? and I might actually read more lol

  1. Ohhhhhhhhhh I don't know ... those sounds like pretty good challenges to me!! LOL!!!

  2. Good luck with all the challenges!

I've had a hard time updating and writing completion posts in the past too. I think that is part of the reason I chose to just do the Goodreads Challenge last year. I am still not sure what I want to do this year. The Full House challenge looks fun.

  3. Best of luck on your challenges. I am doing the Goodreads challenge and challenge myself to read more than the previous year.

  4. You can do this Sheree!! Thanks for joining the Full House challenge. I am joining the two Australian ones this year although going in at the wallaroo level for the Aussie author challenge and the AWW. I've already put in Come What May into both. Last year I would only let myself have one book go into two challenges only, now this year I put each book into anything it fits!

I do however update as I post so that I remember and this year I am also keeping a spreadsheet. I think when I go across to wordpress it will be easier with a plugin by Ashley at Nose Graze that does a lot of it for you. Here's hoping.

  5. Good luck with your challenges! I'm always so tempted by reading challenges but I always fail them in rather outstanding ways, so now I live them vicariously through others :)

  6. Good luck to you! I only signed up for one and completed it but didn't do any linking up or anything. Unless it's an active group it's hard to get excited about it.

  7. Create shlelves for each challenge on Goodreads and add your challenge books to them as you go?
