It's Monday: Check-In Time

Linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? hosted by Sheila from Book JourneyIn Sheila's absence, share your Monday post on twitter #IMWAYR.

Busy, busy week and I'm exhausted but happy. Lots of Mia time as Anthony & Christine spent days here putting in a 'rustic' bar area in our old garage. We are converting it to a kind of functional space since we already have a double garage. Will share some photos later. My son's girlfriend turned 21 and we went to her party on Friday night and then the Paniyiri Greek Festival on Sunday.

Here's the layouts I got done last week at scrapbook retreat, thanks to kits by Sue Tonga, gorgeous friend and talented scrapbooker.

family holiday Gold Coast - January 2015

first photos I've scrapped of our fabulous trip to Lady Elliot Island
snorkeling with turtles Jan 2015

this was a class by Sue and one of the more difficult layouts I've done
but the time and effort was definitely worth it :)

NORTHERN HEAT by Helene Young ~ loved it!
*Guest post by Helene Young tomorrow and there's a fantastic giveaway*

This Week's Reading List:

THE CONFECTIONER'S TALE by Laura Madeleine ~ isn't the cover gorgeous!!

THE LITTLE PARIS BOOKSHOP by Nina George (audiobook) I picked this one up because Kathryn from Book Date loved it.

Reviews Coming:

ONLY WE KNOW by Victoria Purman ~ another wonderful read from this Australian author. Review Friday

A DESPERATE FORTUNE by Susanna Kearsley ~ good but not my favourite Kearsely.

ROSE UNDER FIRE by Elizabeth Wein (Code Name Verity #2) ~ audiobook. Very emotional.

TELL THE TRUTH by Katherine Howell (Ella Marconi #8) ~ great installment, sad it's the last in the Ella Marconi series ... for now. I'm not ready for goodbye!

  1. Lovely layouts all of them, especially one with Mia. The Greek festival sounds great. One of my sisters has made some Greek friends and shares in all their cooking. She is off to Greece later in the year. The Greek honey puffs look yummy!
I like the cover of The Confectioner's Tale - looks promising. If you loved Northern Heat I had better check it out!
Great walking! No doubt you will make it up to Bella.

  2. Nice scrapbooking! And the Greek festival sound like fun.

I'm intrigued by Paris Bookshop and hope it's good. Looks like both books this week have a PAris connection.

  3. I love the layouts especially of Mia. I was hoping to get The
Little Paris bookshop but was turned down due to geographical restrictions. Sounds very good.

  4. Good week for you :)
    Happy reading this week!

  5. I do like the cover of The Confectioner's Tale. You're doing a great job on the walking front... I really need to start doing something.

And I love your scrapbooking work and layouts. They're gorgeous!

  6. Beautiful work! Glad you had a good week and fun at the festival!

  7. What beautiful scrapbook pages! They are like works of art. Thanks for sharing. And have a good week!

  8. Lovely pages!! And yay for hitting your step goals! That's wonderful. A rustic bar sounds like something I would love - can't wait to see pictures! I was approved for The Little Paris Bookshop from Netgalley. Interested to see what you end up thinking of it. Have a great week!

  9. What lovely scrapbook pages! My walking has been suffering due the the almost constant rainy weather. I am definitely a fair weather walker. However, the rain does let me spend more time reading. Come see my reading week here. Have a wonderful week!

  10. Beautiful scrapbook layouts! The Greek Festival sounds like so much fun. I love Greek food but I've never had that dessert. Baklava is one of my favorites.

The Confectioner's Tale and The Little Paris Bookshop both look really good to me. I think The Confectioner's Tale isn't available in the States but the other book definitely is and I plan to check it out once we get it at the library.

  11. Gorgeous photos! Your scrapbooking techniques display everything so wonderfully.

I love garage conversions. A few years ago I had a detached three-car garage converted into a guesthouse that served us well for years...and is now serving the new owners of the property...LOL

Enjoy your week...I am drawn to The Little Paris Bookshop. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  12. Love love love your pages!! They are gorgeous!! LOVING the colors!!!!!!

  13. Yum those honey puffs look so good. You are so talented, I love your scrapbook pages.

Your scrapbooking pages are gorgeous! I have been thinking about learning how to do it, now that I have Wyatt and am amassing a collection of keepsakes for him. :)

  15. Your scrapbook pages are so beautiful!

  16. It's been a busy week for you :) Lovely pages I haven't scrapped in so long. The Confectioners Tale is a nice enough read, I hope you enjoyed it.
