On the home front:
A pretty good week for catching up on blog stuff and getting back on track at home. Mia and her mumma are much improved and we got some nice walks in on the weekend. Half the fun of walking somewhere different is not knowing what you might see and I was so excited seeing mother duck and her ducklings I had trouble keeping my phone steady lol
I nearly stepped on this blue-tongue lizard sunbaking on the path

Love those photos! What a great walk that would be. Walking in my city neighborhood is not much fun, but perhaps I could take the attitude that I might find something surprising there, too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books. I have Pretending to Dance and hope to read it soon.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I loved Pretending to Dance, up there with The Midwife's Confession, hope you love it too. I get bored doing the same walk around the neighbourhood with my dog but on the weekend we'll walk somewhere different. This one was literally 5 mins away ... don't know why I haven't been there before lol
DeleteThe Paris Key looks so good and I really enjoy Juliet Blackwell's writing so I can't wait to get that one. All of your reviews coming up appeal to me. I have a feeling this week is going to be hard on my TBR! I love the ducklings. They're just so cute and fun to watch. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI was like a kid with the duck family ... it's the little things hey. The Paris Key was my first Juliet Blackwell, what should I try next ... got a favourite??
DeleteGlad your family is feeling better. I love ducklings. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI am curious about the new Diane Chamberlain book. I loved The Coincidence of Coconut Cake and hope you enjoy it too.
Thanks Christina. I'm excited about The Coincidence of Coconut Cake, heard nothing but good.
DeleteGreat pics! Looks like a beautiful area, especially by the river there. Hope this week's books are good. We're celebrating the last hurrah, more or less, of summer here- at least the weather's nice! :)
ReplyDeleteFreaky lizard!
ReplyDeletehaha I was a little worried he was going to run at me and latch on to my arm ... my bad for sticking a phone in his face ;)
DeleteTotally agree Freaky Lizard! I hope it is actually smaller than the photo indicates! Great walking and wonderful places you explore. Have heard such great things about The Coincidence of Coconut Cake and will read it, but in a little while!!
ReplyDeletelol Kathryn, lizard was quite a good size, about a ruler long. We used to have lots of blue tongue lizards in our garden, (they're great for keeping garden pests down) my eldest would pick them up for a pat but Bella's killed so many (that makes me cry) ... can't seem to train that 'terrier' nature.
DeleteDarling ducklings. What a great walk. Looking forward to If You Only Knew. Glad Mia and her momma are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI've loved your pics on Instagram this week! I hope you enjoy The Coincidence of Coconut Cake. It's setting is the metro area where I live!! Glad Mia and her mom are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone's improving health-wise. Love the pics and the ducks are very cute - the lizard... not so much.
ReplyDeleteAlso great work on the exercise again!
Looking forward to your reviews on the French theme.
ReplyDeleteLoving the photos!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mama Duck and her babies!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThose little ducklings are just gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing who wins the Deanna Roy ebook set....the Forever series is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! Great week of steps, too!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you think of Coincidence of Coconut Cake and Lone Star. Both are on my list. Have a great week!
Oh my gosh the ducklings! I would have been super excited too!!
ReplyDeleteAnd The Coincidence of Coconut Cake looks really good! I would have to actually eat coconut cake with it though I think.:)
