Linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? hosted by Sheila from Book Journey.
On the home front:
Good week, had a couple of fun days with sweetpea Mia, our veggie plot is going great, we've had some very early warm weather and the pool is perfect.
Watching: yay for the return of Scandal, 1st episode of Grey's Anatomy season 12 #tears #again and I still have the new episodes of Downton Abbey to look forward to. I watched the first 2 episodes of Blindspot (thanks Greg) and mostly enjoyed it, enough to keep watching anyway. Aussie Sullivan Stapleton plays FBI agent Kurt Weller ... noice one!

I just started watching Scandal on Netflix and I'm hooked. Almost done with the first season. Glad the weather is starting to warm up for you. We had our first "cold" day yesterday and I almost dug out my winter coat. Thankfully it is supposed to be warmer the rest of the week but I know it won't last. Part of living in the Midwest :)
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your comment about Menagerie. I thought about requesting that one for review but I admit I was worried there might be clowns too :) I look forward to your review of it!
Yay!! giggling that you're now a Scandal addict. Don't worry I'll be sure to let you know about any freaky clowns ;)
DeleteI put in a late request for The Lake House so hope I get it. (Somehow missed two months of Allen & Unwin catalogues?!).
ReplyDeleteI'm need to watch Blindspot too plus a few other new shows coming to our screen.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Deb :)
DeleteBrian is watching The Blind Spot ... he likes it so far ... he said the first episode was "ok" ... but the one after was better!! And loving that video!!!!!! Sooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehaha thanks Julie :))
DeleteYay for your veggie plot, I dont know if I could keep things alive or even grow them LOL Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteMegan @ http://readingawaythedays.blogspot.co.uk
early days yet, I hope I keep everything alive lol
DeleteTotally jealous of the pool, unfortunately being in Scotland having one is pointless!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I've only visited Scotland once, in October and I loved it, so beautiful and cold lol. I guess a pool wouldn't get much use :)
DeleteI saw the first episode of Blindspot, and for some reason, decided not to continue. Maybe because I already have so many shows on my DVR!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Mia...she is at that wonderful age...of course, my granddaughters at 18 are still wonderful...I guess it's a THING, loving being with grandkids.
I hope to read The Lake House next week...or the week after. So many books, so little time.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
You're so right, grandkids are wonderful, I hope I'm still spending lots of time with mine when they're in their teens :)
DeleteThat's good to hear your veggie plot is doing well. My boyfriend his parents grew some tomoatoes in their garden this year, so we got a few of them. Our balcony is too small to really grow anything. I have Menagerie pre-ordered, so I hope my copy arrives soon. I am not a fan of clowns either, but none of the reviews I read mentioned them, so I don't think there will be any clowns. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love homegrown tomatoes, they taste so much yummier. Phew glad to hear about Menagerie being clown free :)
DeleteI need to watch Blindspot. I love the premise of it. That's great about your veggies and the early warm weather. I can't wait to see what you think of the Kate Morton! I love her books and the worlds she creates so I'm hoping this is another good one. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Katherine, Kate Morton's writing is gorgeous and I always get pulled into her world.
DeleteNice walks :)
ReplyDeleteThanks B :)
DeleteI am curious about the Lake House. So glad you had fun with Mia. Blindspot sounds interesting. Enjoy your week and great job with FitBit.
ReplyDeleteI love Kate Morton, her novels always have this 'dreamy' quality for want of a better word. Running around after Mia gets my steps up ... you know all about that :)
DeleteI have The Lake House and Burnt Paper Sky on my radar, so maybe soon.
ReplyDeleteMia is such a lovely little girl-- enjoy her!
I watch much of the same shows as you do. I started Blindspot, not sure if I will continue but for now it's okay.
Have a great week, Sheree!
I agree about Blindspot but maybe it'll be like The Blacklist, I didn't get hooked til almost the end of the 1st season and now I'm addicted lol.
DeleteSo lucky to spend time with Mia every week :)
I saw the first episode of Blindspot but missed the second one. I'm curious enough to check it out but I've been binging so much on netflix I forgot to watch anything else this week. oops. :) I've heard Scandal is good.
ReplyDeleteNice reviews of On Rue Tatin, I think Normandy would be an interesting area.
Scandal is addictive!! I'd love to spend time in the Normandy area when I go back to France.
Deletegreat work! I don't watch much TV, but Blindspot looked like it could be really good - or bad (it was hyped a lot). Keep me posted on what you think!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen. I think Blindspot might be a bit like The Blacklist, I didn't get hooked til almost the end of the 1st season; we'll see.
DeleteOh man, I miss our pool already and we just closed it last weekend. You are doing great with the walking. We enjoyed the Blindspot and will keep watching. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI think we're going to be in the pool a lot Nise`, we're in for a very hot summer. Looks like most of us enjoyed Blindspot :)
DeleteOh that pool looks inviting and Mia is obviously turning into a water baby. Ha I bought the first series of Scandal when you mentioned it way back and I haven't even watched it. I am not a very good TV watcher! Downton Abbey starts here next week so definitely will be geared up for that. Looking forward to all your reviews.
ReplyDeleteOnce you start Scandal you'll be kicking yourself you waited so long lol. Woohoo for Downton, I've got my fingers crossed it's a tragedy free season ;)
DeleteOMG, Teddyree is Grey's Anatomy back on free-to-air here in Australia - how did I miss that? You lucky thing having a copy of The Lake House - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying the Lake House so far Joanne, Kate Morton's writing beautiful as always! LOL Grey's is supposed to be fast-tracked but it's not showing yet, we watch via online subscription :)
DeleteI haven't done anything about a fall garden; it's been so crazy-busy around here! New grandchild coming in four weeks!
ReplyDeleteHere's my It's Monday!
sooo excited for you Deb, can't wait to read about your new arrival. Grandkids are so special!!
DeleteHahaha...'hope there's no freaky clowns'!! That cracked me up, because I share the same thoughts!! I was approved for that one last week, I hope it's good!
ReplyDeleteDying to know what you think so far of The Lake House!
Mia is just the cutest! It's so great that she loves the water that much. How fun!
Great steps, too! :) I hope you have another great week.
haha clowns *shudder* looks like I'm far from alone with the clown thing. I'm really enjoying the Lake House, took me a while to get really hooked but as usual Kate Morton's writing is beautiful.
DeleteBe by your blog soon, can't wait to see how you did in your first 5k!
haha I hope there is no clowns in that book either, or else I wont be able to get past it :|
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how many of us are freaked out by clowns lol
DeleteI have enjoyed the first two episodes of Blindspot too. I need something to add to my viewing schedule as baseball is over for me for the year. Here is what I read last week. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteall my regular series have returned, if I add any more shows I'll never get any reading done lol
DeleteMia looks so sweet in the pool. I may have to check into Blindspot. But - yes, watching shows pulls away from reading. Such a dilemma.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Kate Morton in a while - I'll be interested in your thoughts.
Happy Reading!
I can't wait for the new episodes of Downton Abbey!! Unfortunately we don;t get them until January... hope I can get there without major spoilers. Looking forward to The Lake House, too.
ReplyDeleteKate Morton is one of the authors I keep meaning to try.
ReplyDeleteAm in Melbourne and catching up on all the TV I missed!
