It's Sunday/Monday: Check-In Time

Linking up with Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? now hosted by Kathryn @ Book Date. Way to go Kathryn, you'll rock this!

It's wonderful to see the It's Monday! What Are You Reading meme passing to new hands, Sheila chose well. I loved getting to know Sheila when J.Kaye passed the meme into her capable and nurturing hands. When I first participated in this meme J.Kaye was virtually the only person commenting on my blog lol ... wow that's 8 years ago. This little meme has traversed the world and closed the miles. Love it!

On the home front:
Busy, busy week and I am stuffed. Had so much fun with Mia, we swam and gardened and danced and read. She is a little octopus, into everything, part angel, part cute little devil.

I have some Mia/Nonna book reviews coming up soon, we received a lovely stack of children's books from Hatchette. I love that she loves books so much, look how excited she is haha

And I shocked myself ... made a card, 1st one in months!

Dad is visiting tomorrow and we have another busy weekend coming up.

  2. Love the pictures of Mia. She is adorable and she looks mischievous too!

Great job with your fitness goals! I actually walked a mile yesterday and I'm paying the price today. My life is way too sedentary.

Guess I will have to add Menagerie to my TBR list. I want to give The Martian another try sometime. I should have finished it before the movie and all the library holds! Oh, well.

YES you have to read Menagerie, or listen to it, audio was brilliant! I didn't realise you started on The Martian ... it's another audio that's amazingly well narrated. Did you not get hooked from the start?

I also remember book blogging from J. Kaye's days as the host....she also regularly commented on my blogs...LOL.

I wonder what she's up to these days?

Kathryn is a great choice, and I look forward to the meme continuing.

I also loved The Lake House. I am eager to read November 9 at some point, too. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  8. Oh...Mia is super cute!!! I have a niece named Mia and she is into everything as well...she's 18 months and quite the devil at times :)

You had a great week step-wise. I'm so thankful for my dogs - sometimes they are the only thing that get me out the door and moving, especially lately (work has been so stressful!).

I have the Colleen Hoover book on my shelf - just need to find the time to read it and I desperately want to read the new Kate Morton book - I just love her books!!!

  9. I am glad to hear you enjoyed Menagerie, I just got my copy, now to actually make time to read it. I haven't started Jill Shalvis her animal magnetism series yet, but I did read the first book in her new series earlier this year and enjoyed it, so I want to give her other series a try soon. Have a great week!

  12. Love the pics of Mia, nearly asked for some children's books to review from Hachette NZ and decided not, but maybe I will next time. I have adorable little gran niece and nephew to share with. Totally love your card - so creative. I am not really creative, I can follow someone else's idea but that's it. However the learning to quilt is giving me a sense of creativity because at least I pick the colours!
I am so intrigued by your response to Menagerie that I have put it in my wish list at Audible. Might wait to your review to finally decide.
I loved the movie of The Martian, would even go again which is so unusual for me.
I am hearing from a few bloggers that used to join J Kaye so many years ago. I really admire all you people that have been around so long. So happy you are still blogging because I have had my reading changed quite a bit since I started following book blogs. Hope I am still going in 8 years - coming up to my 3rd!
Have a great week, enjoy your Dad's visit.
