It's Sunday/Monday: Check-In Time

Linking up with Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? now hosted by Kathryn @Book Date

So this week when I should have been getting ahead with blog posts I joined Fat Mum Slim's Photo a Day challenge #fmsphotoaday. It takes me longer to do things but I really want to stick with it this time. Find me on Instagram @teddyree if you want to have a squiz or join in in the fun. And let me know if you're already participating :)

I'm having a surgical procedure on my hands midweek, it's a test procedure, meaning if there's some improvement it means I'm an excellent candidate for microsurgery on the nerves. No improvement = no point doing the bigger surgery. Wish me luck, it will either be the best birthday pressie ... or not.

Not sure how much use I'll have of my hands after or what I'm allowed to do. I didn't ask the questions I probably should have; more than a little blown away to finally have another option that doesn't involve trialing useless medications. Still have to keep going with the hand & mirror therapy but that's not hard #justweird

#FitReaders co-hosted by Felicia @ Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and Jen @ That’s What I’m Talking AboutFitReaders is a great way to stay motivated, accountable and it's more fun having bloggy friends to check in with. If you also have a fitbit and want to add me, let me know :)

An average week, very hot and humid early in the week, 36°c (96.8°F)  Only 2 'intentional' walks later in week after cool change came through. Surprisingly I still managed to make my target. Bella's skin has been appalling in the heat (poor thing suffers from canine dermatitis) so I won't drag her along for any more walks while it's hot.

Fitbit Steps:
Mon: 8792 steps ~ swimming
Tue: 7019 steps ~ swimming
Wed: 8760 steps
Thurs: 10,384 steps ~ walk with Bella
Fri: 9448 steps
Sat: 7680 steps ~ walk to community garden with Mia, play in the park
Sun: 9513 steps

  4. I wish you the best of luck with your procedure and pray that they have good news for you!

Great job with the steps in spite of the heat! I hope to do some outdoor walking when spring arrives. I'm not much of an outdoor person but I like the idea of walking in a park.

I'm glad you liked The Things We Keep. I just finished that one this past week. I need to write my review while it is fresh in my mind.

I love the cover of I'll See You in Paris. I might have to request that one for review. I also love the cover of the Susan Mallery book. I'm not familiar with that one.

    1. Thanks so much Christina, will keep you posted. You absolutely nailed last week ... great job!

I loved The Things We Keep but it was nice the sadness was balanced with light and humour. Lisa Genova's Still Alice made me bawl my eyes out. I don't even know what I'll See You in Paris is about lol ... I requested it because hello ... "Paris" and I loved the cover.

  7. Oh do hope the surgical procedure gives hope. Will be thinking of you. Missing Pieces was very good, I didn't guess the killer though. Love your photos, all the best for the challenge. Great steps in spite of the heat. We've been up to 28 and muggy. Today I am not going on a walk, unless it cools later. Yesterday came home drenched in sweat! Thought 9am would be okay but no!
I nearly opted for Jenny Colgan listen as I just started a new audio, but went for new to me author instead. I er.. had to wash the urban fantasy I had been listening to out of my ears! J Colgan would have done it for me as well I think.

    1. Thanks ... me too Kathryn. I don't want to put Missing Pieces down but I must get blog stuff done. That's a good thing not guessing the killer ... I have my suspicion but hmm wonder if I'm right.

lol on the urban fantasy, which one was that? Jenny Colgan would have definitely done it. I'm thinking the next one in the Little Beach Street Bakery series will be a nice easy listen while I'm in hospital.

  9. Praying that the procedure results in you being a candidate and that it works wonders! The flu took my fitness goals for the week, even though I laid around in bed I kept the fitbit on! I wanted credit for every movement. Looking forward to Missing Pieces and The Friends We Keep. Have a great week.

  10. Good luck with the hand surgery!!! Will keep you in my thoughts and send you good vibes all week!

You had a great week with your steps, despite the heat - we are finally getting winter here in NY with a little snow...nothing big, but flurries here and there.

All your books look good and I have a few of them in my stacks!!! Have a great week and keep us posted about the surgery! xxoo

  13. A couple of familiar reads on this week's list.

I hope the operation goes well, and hope you're a candidate for the further surgery if that helps.

I did the Fat Mum Slim challenge once and what I enjoyed about it was that it made me focus more on everything around me as I had to be 'ready' for a potential pic if the right image / situation popped up. (IF that makes sense!)

  14. I want hot! (Not so much humid). But after going on about snow it was around 15 degrees today so yeah, I'm over that. LOL. I hope your procedure goes well, best of luck!! And happy birthday too sounds like?

Missing Piece looks good, everything I've read sounds good so hopefully you enjoy it. Have an awesome week!

  21. Oh my, good luck on this micro surgery. What will happen if it doesn't work? Will you be stuck with pain? I hope not. Your little one is cute. Children are a gift and their innocent wonder of the world makes an adult's outlook so much more fun.

  22. I hope that medical procedure works out for you. I envy your warm temperatures but perhaps not quite that warm. We started the day well below 0 Fahrenheit today. Here is what I read last week. Happy reading!

  23. I didn't realize you were having trouble with your hands (where have I been?!) I hope the procedure goes well and they can go ahead with the microsurgery - and I hope that works.

What a sweet photo of your little one! And I like the wagon-wheel bench, though at first glance I thought it was a very big spinning wheel.

I'm looking forward to your review of The Friends We Keep. I like Mallery a lot, but haven't started that series yet.
