2010 Read Your Own Books Challenge

I'm joining this challenge hosted by MizB's Reading Challenges so I can read some of the hundreds of unread books waiting patiently on my book shelves. The great thing about this challenge is you can nominate how many books you want to read without having to list them before the year starts.  Perfect, you can read to suit your mood rather than having to stick to a pre-decided list.

I would like to read 20 of my own books in 2010

The rules are simple:

•Pick a number of books you’d like to read in one year

•Choose those books from your OWN collection

•Read them between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010

And, that’s it!

Some other guidelines for this challenge:

•Re-Reads are NOT allowed (the challenge is to get more of your own books read that have been sitting there waiting!)

•Audiobooks & e-books ARE allowed

•You do NOT need a blog to participate.

Check out MizB's Reading Challenge Blog for her other challenges.

1. Witch Fire by Anya Bast
2. A Good Yarn by Debbie Macomber
3. The Twilight Before Christmas by Christine Feehan

This month on The Eclectic Reader one lucky reader can win The Running Vixen OR Shadowland OR Captive of Sin. Check this blog post for details. International entrants welcome.

  1. We are so slack commiting to reading 25 of our own books when we have a couple of hundred each LOL. Glad you signed up for this one, between this and the library challenge we might actually get somewhere and cut down some book buying.

  2. Perfect for me, I plan to read my own books :)So I will go for this

  3. I joined the same type of challenge just hosted by someone else. I really need to read my own books....let's wish each other luck!!!

  4. I love the idea of this challenge!!!

I sort of fell apart in September so I don't no if I want to accept any challenges next year.
Good luck to all...I will think about it. I do know that my focus will be different going forward. :)

  5. Ack! It's time to start signing up on all these challenges again, isn't it?! I'd better get on that soon.

  6. Oh I think I will be joining this one again next year. Once of the challenges that I didn't have a problem completing!

  7. I would love to read some of my books. They are shrinking and withering away due to my neglect. Poor things. I'm in.

  8. Another great challenge! I should do this.... I have a good 100+ on the shelves as well that belong to me and wait patiently....

  9. It's so very tempting to do this challenge! I have WAY too many books waiting on my shelves...and I'm afraid that I won't get to them...for forever! Good luck with the challenge!

  10. I took part in this last year - I had fun reading and I read a whole lot of books..

Definately not doing it this year - I am hosting this year - so thats another feat as well..

  11. I did this one this year and completed my goal of 50 in October. I'm going to sign up with the same goal. It is a great way to move some books off your shelves. Good luck!

  12. I need to join this because I have taken to bringing books to work becasue I am running out of space at home. Don't even ask :)

  13. I really should join this challenge. It would force me to read the books so patiently waiting for their turn.

    Dottie :)
