A weekly event hosted by Sheila from One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. Thanks Sheila :-)
As predicted very little reading or blogging last week; Just the one review posted and one book finished. On the positive side, my brother-in-law's recovery from surgery for prostate cancer was excellent, whilst he will have a urinary catheter in for the next 10 days, he was back home Sunday afternoon after having robotic surgery on Friday!
I was completely and utterly exhausted by the time all the family left on Sunday so I'll take it easy the next day or two and catch up on some blog visiting and then prepare for scrapbook camp which I'm soooo looking forward to. A whole weekend of scrapping, fun, laughter, and catching up with treasured friends! Wanted to share a layout of my two gorgeous boys; photo taken May 2010.
The winner of my July competition will be posted this afternoon, apologies for the delay ... life; it does get in the way :)
Click on the title to check out my review of -
SHADOWLAND by Alyson Noel
***********
Completed last week:
DAMAGED by Pamela Callow ~ 4 stars, really good debut suspense/thriller
************
This Week's Reading List:
HIDDEN WIVES by Claire Avery ~ page 75
EAT, PRAY, LOVE by Elizabeth Gilbert ~ (audiobook) chapter 3.
I'll be definitely listening to another audiobook as I pack for scrapbook camp and in the wee hours at camp, just not sure what I feel like right now.
************
I'll hopefully get a book or two reviewed off my list:
THE LIES WE TOLD by Diane Chamberlain
ROEING OAKS by Krsitina Emmons
DARK FLAME by Alyson Noel
SAVING MAX by Antoinette van Heugten
SPIRIT BOUND by Richelle Mead
BLOOD PROMISE by Richelle Mead
FORGET-HER-NOTS by Amy Brecount White
This month on The Eclectic Reader one lucky reader can win The Sky Is Everywhere OR Mockingjay OR By Fire, By Water. Check this blog post for details. International entrants welcome.
hey Teddyree...how's thing getting on? I hope that he'll be much better soon. Robotic surgery?? It sounds high tech.. as a guy I also afraid that i'll contract that prostate desease in future. but i really hope that I won't. prevent is better than cure right.
ReplyDeleteI say any week where I finish at least one book is a good week :) Hope you're able to accomplish what you want this week! Mine is here:

I think you'll really like Hidden Wives and Eat Pray Love. I don't think I'll get much reading done this week either, too much to do. Love the layout, looks great!
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for linking my Monday post again!
ReplyDeleteI've been interested in Hidden Wives... and I'll be interested to see what you think of Eat, Pray, Love. Seeing it on a few lists with the movie out now.
ReplyDeleteYour boys look really good and the layout is so good! I hope you have a great stress-less week ahead :)
ReplyDeleteScrapbook Camp! Oh that sounds like fun!! I have a work retreat (which really is no treat at all) coming up next weekend. Believe me - I would rather be scrapbooking!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week and whatever books you choose!
I can't wait to read you review on Blood Promise.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
I am afraid I gave up on the Noel novels after Shadowlands, I just can't get past Ever's character.
ReplyDeleteYou have some great books lined up this week. Hope you enjoy them all.
I have heard postive and negative things about EAT, PRAY, LOVE by Elizabeth Gilbert, but still I want to try it out. Hope you are going or enjoying the story. ;)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the books you got there to read. And have a wonderful reading week. :)
I am in the midst of Hidden Wives.
ReplyDeleteHave another great reading week ahead! Here is my Mondays: Mailbox/Where Am I/Musings post.
I hope he will be ok, robotic surgery, now that is actually cool.
ReplyDeleteHoping your brother in law keeps getting better each day. Hang in there. I know you must be tired.
ReplyDeleteI hear the Eat, Pray, Love book is quite different from the movie, but haven't heard how. Will be interested to hear your take on it.
ReplyDeleteThat scrapbook page is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI am glad your brother-in-law is recovering well. My dad made a complete recovery after prostate surgery with no ill effects.
I am hoping to find Hidden Wives somewhere in this part of the world. I did not like Eat, Pray, Love and I know I am in the minority on this one.
ReplyDeleteI recently read The Lies We Told...enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI have Eat Pray Love on my stacks, but not on my list this week. Soon!!
Glad to hear that your brother-in-law is doing well.
Hang in!
Here's my Monday:
http://curlupandread.wordpress.com/2010/08/16/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-2/
I read quite a lot of negative reviews on Eat, Love, Pray so I'd certainly anticipate your own review on that one. I was thinking of buying a copy myself though the reviews did hinder my interest :(
ReplyDeleteI adored The Hidden Wives! I did not care for Eat, Love, Pray (I am in the minority there). Have a fabulous week. I look forward to your reviews. My Monday: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/08/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-8.html
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteHope your week is a little quieter and you can get back to some reading.
It must be a relief that your Brother in Law is recovering.
have a good week
carol
Your boys are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI've heard only good things about Hidden Wives so I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Have a great scrapbooking weekend.
Oh your so lucky ! I would love to go to scrapbook camp. Hope you have fun and enjoy your reads!
ReplyDeleteNatalie :0)
I'm so glad to hear things went well with your brother in-law, that can be really scary, but it sounds like things are going very well. That's fantastic news!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm really interested to see what you think of Eat Pray Love. I recently reviewed it over at Chick Lit Reviews and was surprised that it was really what I expected.
Hope you have a fabulous week and thanks so much for stopping by my site earlier!
I hear you about being busy, not being able to blog and visit blogs. For me, I think this will be a bit hit or miss for a time. My reading has been going great for August, surprisingly enough.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read your review for Saving Max. I am very interested in that one. I finished Spirit Bound, and will post my review for that one sometime soon. So, I am looking forward to seeing what you thought of Blood Promise.
How are you liking Eat, Pray, Love? I am hearing about that book, yet again. It must be because of the movie.
Hope you have a great week, and that all in your family will remain healthy.
By the way, that is a wonderful scrapbook page of your boys. Fantastic to have a lovely photo of brothers...together.
Hidden Wives looks really good. Have fun at scrapbooking camp!
ReplyDeleteGret news about your brother-in-law, Teddyree. Love the pic you posted of your "boys"! Sounds like you had a fun weekend after the good news. Happy to hear that! No worries about delayed posts, books that aren't finished yet, etc. Some things are more important!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good week!
~ Amy
You are a Scrap Goddess!! I love and adore that layout so very much!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week dear!
Scrap camp...yea! Have tons of fun sweetie. THe boys look great and I'm glad the BIL is doing better. I guess we are getting to the point on our lives where everyone starts having "things" done. Such is life.
ReplyDelete{{hugs}} and enjoy your week :)
