It's Monday! What Are You Reading? and an Update

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. Thanks Sheila :)

In the midst of all the medical drama this week I received this t-shirt from Aussie author pal Katherine Howell. Katherine is a former paramedic, now best-selling crime writer. I can't rave enough about her work and I'm so look forward to her new novel, SILENT FEAR coming Feb 2012. Katherine surprised me with this "It's Criminal what a girl has to do ... to get a good read" Sisters in Crime t-shirt signed by herself and one of my other favourite suspense/thriller authors Tess Gerritsen. (love Tess's work!!) Thanks Katherine, this was a real cheer-me-up :)

Ok, back to update; they got all the cancer this time and after a few days of looking like a cross between a clubbed seal and the elephant man I'm slowly returning to normal. My stitches come out this week and Callum goes in on Wednesday for his multiple excisions. Obviously this week is going to be extremely stressful waiting on Callum's results so whatever I manage to get done on my blog will be a bonus.

  11. I'm reading three picture books a night with my children. That's making my list seem really long. I also got some longer books finished too. Please come see what I've read.

  12. Good to hear your surgery went well, now wishing your son well

  13. Oh, I'll be thinking of you and your son this week! I've got a surgery this week as well to test for another type of cancer and I'm not looking forward to it at all. Hopefully things will turn out fabulous for both of us!

And yay! I loved The Language of Flowers, so I hope you really enjoy it! Have a wonderful week, good luck and thank you so much for stopping by earlier! :o)

  14. I've got you and your son in my thoughts, I'm so sorry! Hoping everything goes well :)

    Enjoy your reading this week!

  15. Loving that t-shirt and you know I'm praying for him!

  16. Oh my sweetie! I am so sorry to hear about you and Callum's health scare! My heart goes out to the both of you. I hope nothing serious comes back form pathology, and that everything is removed.
It sucks that his Formal is coming up as well. I hope he heals quickly, and maybe you could find a fancy doo-rag, or manly scarf thing for him to wear. Not sure what the name is.
Thoughts, {{{hugs}}} and prayers your way.

  17. I hate when I get so behind in my blog reading that I miss important stuff like your earlier melanoma post! I'm so glad that you are in the clear and will keep Callum in my prayers. He is lucky that he has such a vigilant mother!
    I'll be thinking of you.

  18. Finally some good news for you and a lovely gift, hope things continue to improve in the same vein now and all goes well for your son. Will continue to keep you in my thoughts. Take you r mind off your stress with some reading if you can, you have some good ones lined up.
