It's Monday! What Are You Reading? & an Update :)

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. Thanks Sheila :)

I got my wish for a less eventful week (yay) and answers. Visit to Neurologist revealed my ulnar nerve is trapped at the elbow, giving me pain in my arm and numb fingers and hand. Appointment with surgeon is 5th April and hopefully surgery to have it released won't be too long after that!

Fortunately my neurologist appt ran on time and I made it to hear author Katherine Howell speak; very cool, I've got a post going up about it tomorrow :)

Bella had her 2nd rabies vaccine so all that's left from the Bella vs Bat saga is blood tests in a months time to check for antibodies.

Alaine and I saw The Hunger Games at the movies ... awesomeness!! If you've read the book recently some discrepancies may niggle but I thought this was a fantastic book to movie adaptation. If you haven't read this series what are you waiting  for??

I also got my first cuddle with Alaine's new granddaughter, Charlotte. Here's the card I made :)

  1. I hope you'll be able to have your surgery really soon! That sounds so painful.

I am glad Bella is okay. I hate bats. Nasty creatures. Like rats with wings...

I'll have to check out your review of Someone Else's Life. I've got Slide on my TBR and will probably be reading it sometime in April.

I hope you have a good week and enjoy your books. I've read positive reviews of Graffiti Moon.

  4. I hope everything goes well at the surgeon's. I am seeing Hunger Games tomorrow. I haven't read it since it came out. So my memory for the details will be foggy. Everything I have read leads me to believe that the movie was a good adaptation and a good movie too. I can hardly wait. I just read The Kingdom and liked the gothic creepiness of it. My Monday Report is here. Happy reading!

  7. Good luck with your surgery - hope it fixes the problem. I read Graffiti Moon last year as part of my Children's book council young adult short list personal challenge and loved it. Glad you made it to VP Library - I didn't! Maybe next time.

  9. Hope you love The Bungalow as much as I did.

I'm glad you're getting your pain issues sorted out, and that Bella is doing okay, too.

Bella vs. The Bat might make an intriguing children's story...lol

Thanks for visiting my blog, and have a great week.

  11. You have had an exciting week. My kids all saw Hunger Games and loved it and one one had read the book, lol. I have not read it as yet.
Hope you feel better soon, I have an inoperable cyst in my neck near where there was a break from my car accident in 2001 which causes pain and numbness in arms but medications have relieved a lot. I am glad surgery will take away your pain.
