It's Monday! What Are You Reading? & MIA Update

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. Thanks Sheila :)

Thanks so much to all my bloggy friends for the good wishes, emails and support with my arm surgery last Monday. I visited a couple of blogs while I was waiting for surgery but I'm sorry I didn't get around to visiting anyone later in the week like I thought I would, I was decidedly lacking in motivation for anything other than TV and a bit of reading.  My family's looked after me & best friend Alaine & I have chillaxed & watched episodes of Dancing With the Stars US (way better than the Aussie show lol)

I have 2 more weeks before I can bend my elbow which makes things interesting when trying to do the basics like dress and eat lol. Thought the surgery pic of the ulnar nerve being released was super cool but for those of you a bit squeamish ... apologies ;)

And just to lighten things up, here's the fabulous cake that the chef at our local Italian restaurant made for Callum's 18th. His birthday is tomorrow but we had a family celebration at Hog's Breath Cafe on Saturday night. I'll post some more photos tomorrow for his actual birthday.

  9. Ah, eighteenth birthdays are so significant! I remember my youngest child's eighteenth as if it were yesterday. And now, in a little over a year, my two oldest grandsons will turn eighteen!

Great looking cake...and actually, since I've been watching Grey's Anatomy, pix of surgeries don't freak me out...lol

I'm curious about After the Fog.

I love Unger's books, too, and I was thrilled to find the new one on the Vine list. Thanks for visiting!

  10. I am a huge Dancing with the Stars fan and have been really enjoying this season! I'm such a geek when it comes to the show - I keep a notebook with all the scores so I can refer back and see how each couple does compared to the previous weeks - my husband makes fun of me for it, but whatever - it's fun!

That cake looks very yummy!!! Hope Callum has a great birthday!!!

Enjoy your reads this week and hope you continue to feel better. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

    Have a great week!
