My Thoughts:
I'm reviewing these together so I can get back to the final book in the series and don't panic if you're not up to date with the Soul Screamers, absolutely no spoilers here (I haven't even included the synopsis.)
- Rachel Vincent is one 'mean' author when it comes to dishing out dirt ... love it!
- twisty rollercoaster ride of drama, angst, excitement, romance and danger
- smorgasbord of undead and paranormal entities; Bean Sidhe's (banshees) Reapers, Hellions, Demons ... what an addictive bunch.
- pace that will have you hyperventilating
- super freaky Netherworld
- Kaylee, Tod, Nash, Sabine, Emma and Sophie are back and you gotta love the dynamics of the group, the change, their personal growth, friendships.
- none of the typical YA cliches.
- coolest ever undead guy ... Tod
Do it for you?? Then what the heck are you waiting for?
If I Die is my absolute favourite of the series to date but the series on a whole deserves a wicked 5 star rating. Hyperventilating again while reading With All My Soul ... hope my heart attack waits til I've turned the last page.
Recommend: Winner Winner chicken dinner!!
These sound delish!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Julie :)
DeleteLove the short and sweet review style! Sounds like a winning series.
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Mary! I'm keen to try Rachel's Shifter series next :)
DeleteI finished this series last week and I love it! It's not like other paranormal series I've read, and it's incredibly difficult to put down once you start reading! If I Die left me an emotional mess, too!
ReplyDeleteI've finished now too Emma and as much as I thought With All My Soul was the perfect wrap up for the series, If I Die is still my favourite for emotional intensity :)
DeleteOh I love the covers for this so much! I haven't read any of this series but if it's complete, I might get them all and gorge in one go.
ReplyDeletePatience is not my strong point so it was awesome to have books 5, 6 and 7 to read in one go :)
DeleteIt's just that book 1 was good, but not enough for me
ReplyDeletebut they get freakin awesome B, I kid you not!!
DeleteI always wish I was more into urban fantasy than I was. For some reason, most of it doesn't grab me. I may have to give this series a look anyway though.
ReplyDeleteHope you give it a go Ryan, you never know you might end up becoming a fan lol
DeleteI love your ending and that freaky little comic dude!! I have these all scouted out for my Kindle. Looks like I can get a great deal on 3 book volumes which of course I will be purchasing....you enabler you!!!
ReplyDeleteWoot Woot I do like to return the favour occasionally Staci lol. And I had to take the freaky dude out, haven't got the html quite right and it's messing up some other formatting grrr
DeleteI've been thinking I'd like to take a look at some YA Fantasy, a genre I rarely read. And who can resist a super cool undead guy? :-)
ReplyDeleteStephanie you have to wait a few books for Tod to become 'cool' ... just sayin lol. Hope you give it a go!
DeleteGet back to reading :) I love when I rip trhough a series like that!
ReplyDeletethis was a perfect series for gorging on Stacy lol
DeleteAfter meeting Rachel and listening to her speak at ARRC Teddyree, I really want to read some of her novels. Glad you loved this series.
