It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. Thanks Sheila!

So getting my scraproom organised is back on the agenda this week, that task was a big fail last week. We've had miserable weather, unseasonably cold, dreary and drizzly ... not conducive to motivation lol but we did help a friend move to a new house on the weekend. We also watched The Great Gatsby which I have to say I really enjoyed. I'm not much of a classics reader, unless it's Jane Austen classics so the movie will be my contribution to my cultural education :)

  2. I'm glad you liked Looking For Me. I thought it was fantastic. I also liked The Storyteller.

I confess that I haven't read (or watched) The Great Gatsby. I was supposed to have read it for college but I think I read the "Cliffs Notes" version instead :)

The weather here has been warm but with thunderstorms almost every day. Thankfully the rain only sticks around for part of the day and the rest of the day is decent and sunny. I'd like to see an end to the storms for awhile though especially with 4th of July approcahing.

Have a great week and good luck with your organizing project!

    1. The holocaust was always going to be harrowing but I'm just hoping this one of Jodi's has resolution not a 'Clayton's' ending. I'm a huge Jodi Picoult fan but I've been disappointed with the endings of her last few books.

  4. I knew you would like Legend! We are cooler than normal here too. It has been nice for our home renovation projects. Now that they are complete, I hope the warm weather shows up. Have a great week.

  5. I felt the same way about Looking for Me. Hope you settle in and enjoy The Storyteller.

Sounds like our weather is just the opposite of yours...it's very hot here...triple digits.

  6. Your weather actually sounds really nice-it's been pretty hot here (though thankfully not in the triple digits like it is for Creations by Laurel-Rain Snow.)

  8. I gave up on Jodi Picoult as I found the sorrow/grief too much to handle. Your other books are new to me and I look forward to your thoughts on them.

  9. I've had The Sea of Tranquility on my kindle for ages. I don't know why it is that I continue to buy (or request ARCs) too many books all the time. But any time a book I want is really cheap on Amazon, I buy it. Better to already have it, I think... then it disappears to the back.

Thanks for stopping by my It's Monday! post earlier.

  14. I really need to organize all my scrapbook stuff - right now it's all packed away in the closet and I have no idea what I have. I need to get it set up in our spare room, so that when I have a few minutes I can do some scrapping!

I need to get a copy of The Storyteller - how is the audio?

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by my blog!

    1. I need to organise my scrap stuff so I can get in the room lol, it's dreadful ... must take before and after pics :) You're right, if it's all packed away it's too much hassle to dig stuff out for just an hour or two.

I'm enjoying the audio, narration is really good, authentic but you need a chunk of time to devote otherwise the multiple narrators get a little confusing. 10 mins here and there just doesn't cut it lol

  15. Weather can be a big contributor to motivation... Or so I find. I hope you will share some snippets of your scraproom once it's done. I'm sure we'll all like a good nosey :-P

I look forward to your sharing your thoughts on The Storyteller By Jodi Picoult. She is a favourite of mine and I'm still on the fence about purchasing that one.

    1. Totally agree Jade, I want to be a bear when it's cold, rainy and miserable lol.
and yes I think I'll do before and after pics of my scraproom ... I thought putting it out there on my blog will actually make me do it haha!

I'm a huge Jodi Picoult fan but I've been a bit disappointed with the endings of her last few books. I'm enjoying The Storyteller so far (if that's the right word for a harrowing story)
