A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. Thanks Sheila!
On the home front:
A quieter week with little exercise done with a flare up in pain but I managed to escape the summer colds that the rest of the family have had (touch wood.) Anthony and Christine cooked me dinner one night and I had Mia for a sleepover another night ... I'm so lucky, I adore nonna/Mia time and she doesn't mind having a camera shoved in her face now haha so I get the added bonus of photographing my favourite wee person! And lastly my youngest son and girlfriend left for their holiday in Thailand so I'm in charge of their fish for 3 weeks. Hubby and I watched Gone Girl on the weekend ... holy cow that was intense! What a sick, twisted bitch! Have you seen it? Is the movie fairly true to the book?
We also binge watched the first 4 episodes of Chicago Fire season 3 ... I cried each episode and went to bed with a headache and empty box of tissues lol.
Also very excited I won Kathryn's blogoversary giveaway @Book Date. Can't wait to go book shopping with my voucher, I've already chosen my first pick ... Jane Porter's The Good Woman (a recommendation from Kathryn too) ... go and check out her blog, she writes a wonderful review that will have you adding to your groaning TBR stack!

DeleteAnother person who has loved First Frost - I really should just get stuck in!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie in that picture! - Also your It's Monday icon is just gorgeous - did you make it? :D
I bought the art design Fay and just added the text. I did design the little owl vector (on my sidebar) that I use on my short & sweet reviews and I'd love to do more but I'm self taught and very slow lol. Hope you enjoy First Frost too :)
DeleteThat is such a cute photo of Mia!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Gone Girl, but must when it comes out on DVD here in Australia!
It's my new fave photo of her Deb, but I'm just a little biased lol. I'm tossing up whether to read Gone Girl but I'm wondering whether the book ends the same?
DeleteWhat a sweet picture! I haven't seen Gone Girl yet but I want to.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you the of the Nightingale! I love Sarah Jio but have yet to read that one either. Need to make time for it soon. Happy reading!

DeleteI hope you feel better this week! I'm glad you got to spend some time with your granddaughter :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read Leaving Time. We had a mixup at the library with our book distributor so we never received it (or any other bestsellers published in the fall) and now I have to wait till late January when the book will finally arrive! Glad to hear you are enjoying it. Sounds like it will be worth the extra wait :)
I liked Violets of March. It was the first Sarah Jio book I read and maybe my favorite of hers. I have The Nightingale for review too. Sounds like it will be different from her other books.
Have a great week!
YAY another positive comment for Violets of March, I'm really looking forward to it. Jodi Picoult has been hit and miss for me lately, but Leaving Time was fabulous, l liked the mystery and I guess all the elephant detail won't be for everyone but I loved it!!
DeleteNo time to do the meme though I love reading all the posts.
ReplyDeleteHi Mystica, thanks for stopping by :)

DeleteNonna time is the best, and Mia is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved the movie Gone Girl, too, and thought it was BETTER than the book...but others don't agree. You should read it.
Leaving Time, The Nightingale, and Violets of March...awesome reads. Enjoy!
