It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. Thanks Sheila!

On the home front:
Weather here has been disgusting, we're melting in temperatures of 38 degrees (100.4F) and high humidity. Anthony, Christine and Mia have been staying to escape the heat, so the extra Mia time has been a lovely bonus. Youngest son and girlfriend are still having an awesome time on their holiday in Thailand and their fish haven't boiled in their tank ... yet lol.

While chilling in the aircon we've binge-watched the first season of Scandal and OMG I am hooked ... how have I not seen this before now??

the pool water is like bath water but it's perfect for Mia

A busy week coming up ... it's my birthday Thursday and Dad will also be visiting for a couple of nights so we will have a full house ... not sure how much time I'll have for reading. It's also a long weekend with Australia Day on the 26th and I'm participating in the Australia Day Book Giveaway Blog Hop hosted by Shelleyrae @ Book'd Out. Make sure you pop in on Saturday for International Giveaways of our fabulous Australian talent.

  9. Oh, I feel bad about your steamy days...we usually have 110 or more in our summers, but the heat is a dry heat.

    Isn't Mia gorgeous?

I loved The Nightingale, too...and The Silent Sister.

    Happy upcoming birthday!

  10. I don't know how you cope with the heat and humidity, my sister came back from visiting with her daughter on the Gold Coast and said she just lived in the one room that had aircon. Going to be looking forward to the reviews. I've never read Lisa Scottoline but this sounds like an emotional read so will wait for your review and then maybe try her out. Happy Birthday for Thursday and enjoy the family time, no doubt your Dad will delight in spending some time with Mia.
