24 Hours Up

It's 10.30 am and our 24 hours are up here in Australia. I left my reading party pals' home at 6am (my pals rested their eyelids for an hour or two & it was just too quiet without them) and headed home to family and bed. My bed was calling very loudly & after removing toothpicks from my eyelids I rested my weary little head. Unfortunately my wired brain then had other ideas, I listened to hubby snore & the wind chimes drove me insane so up I got.
I can't read as my eyes are just too sore (damn toothpicks) but I've been listening to my audio book & I'm going to do some cheering and blog visiting until it's time to take DS to his soccer game.
Don't forget to enter The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas Give-away - open to everyone not just read-a-thon participants (international visitors welcome)
Hang in there everyone - you're doing great!

  1. Yeah, my eyes are usually what tells me that I can't read anymore!

  2. Don't you hate that when you want to sleep but your body just isn't ready? Anyhow, sounds like things went well with you for the challenge!

  7. You did great, I couldn't have made it that long! Hope you had a good long nap.

I liked your post on the library. I love our little library. I'm always browsing from home and placing things on hold. I just finished White Witch, Black Curse and have the new Nevada Barr and New Jim butcher books on hold. Can't wait!

  8. You need to put on some comfy, cozy jammies & a day @ the spa.

In the meantime, ask hubby for a massage ; }.

  9. My eyes are starting to fizzle too. Wow on staying up for the whole time. I don't think I will. I'll probably make 19 hours though-I hope so anyway.

  10. Well done on a fabulous reading marathon. I really wish I had been able to join in. I have literally been out of the house for the last 24 hours.

  11. You have done such an awesome job! I think it's great that you could stay up 24 hour and read. I will try next time but sleeping is my favorite hooby right next to reading and blogging so I don't know how it will go.
