I absolutely loved this challenge hosted by J.Kaye at J.Kaye's Book Blog, loved it so much that I'm going to keep going with the YA reads & reviews. There are just too many fantastic YA novels out there to stop now! (hey you never know, I might get it completed twice lol.) This is one I definitely want to participate in again next year so J.Kaye I hope this one is on your 'run' list for 2010 :-)
Ok here's my list of YA novels completed - Click on the title to see my reviews
Long Night Dance by Betsy James
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Kiss Me, Kill Me by Lauren Henderson
Willow by Julia Hoban
Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead
Frostbite by Richelle Mead
The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong
The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne
I chose the Mor-book-ly Obese challenge - 6 or more chunksters (450 pages or more of Adult literature) OR three tomes of 750 pages or more. My completed list is:
Dime Store Magic by Kelley Armstrong - 462 pages
Tribute by Nora Roberts - 451 pages
Royal Blood by Rona Sharon - 490 pages
Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult - 477 pages
The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson - 465 pages
Stolen by Kelley Armstrong - 532 pages
To Dance With Kings by Rosalind Laker - 624 pages
Kudos for finishing two challenges
ReplyDelete:-)
Now finish two more :D
LOL April, trouble is I do the easy, fun ones and leave the hard ones like the TBR challenge!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm listening to If I Stay right now.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing two more. Well down, now to tackle the TBR one LOL. You've still got a few months!
ReplyDeleteCongrats :)
ReplyDeleteI am so not finishing one challenge I meant to do since I haven't even started it
Well done you. Fabulous challenges to finish. I managed the YA one with ease, but I am struggling with the Chunkster - too many books to read, so put off by the chunkies.
ReplyDeleteGood job on finishing those challenges. Next year I'm going to join the Chunkster Challenge.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Congrats on finishing TWO challenges....I wouldn't even try! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Job! I wish I could read as fast as you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I've read The Summoning, The Awakening and If I Stay to! Need to review the two latter though. When I come to think of it I'm just one book away from finishing this challenge myself.
ReplyDeleteWay to go!
ReplyDelete@ Vivienne, LMAO @ "too many books to read, so put off by the chunkies." You are so funny! Thanks for the gr8 laugh, Viv.
WAY TO GO!!! :) Doesn't it feel so good to be finished? It would for me if I didn't keep signing up for more. (lol)
ReplyDeleteBack again :)
ReplyDeleteLeft you an award over at my place
Award
stacybuckeye ~ Hope you're loving If I Stay, it was a favourite this year.
ReplyDeleteAlaine ~ but I don't want to read the tbr's, I have so many new, fun books to read and I seriously don't want to read the ones I put on my list in January. Maybe that's one challenge I'm not going to finish.
Blodeuedd ~ LOL I'm with you there, I think I've started all of them but there are 2 that I know I'm not going to finish cause I don't even try!
nanscorner ~ I'm going to do the chunkster challenge again next year and I think I'll stick with the same level.
Viv ~ I loved the YA challenge, I'm still on a YA binge. Chunkster wasn't too bad but I did choose the level 450 pages and above so not too stressful.
Bingo ~ I've really enjoyed the challenges, they help me stay focused but I will cut out the ones I haven't enjoyed.
Krista ~ LOL don't worry there have been plenty of weeks where I've been flat out getting one book read. I wish I could speed read, that would be cool!
ReplyDeleteLadybug ~ yay get it done, but then you know you're stuck with the ones you keep putting off LOL
Diane ~ thanks. I'm like Viv except not with chunkies it's with my tbr challenge (they're so boring.) It's way too easy to go pick up something more exciting
J.Kaye ~ LMAO thanks for giving me ideas, sign up for something else and give myself the perfect excuse for not commpleting my tbr challenge. LOVE IT!!
If you want a truly worthy "chunkster", try MM Kaye's THE FAR PAVILIONS. At 955 pages, it's a doorstop of a book, but I guarantee her characters will live in your heart forever!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, two challenges! Wow! I haven't finished any of the ones I'm in. I'm not really good on the whole challenge thing, lol. Sometimes, I think I like being difficult.
ReplyDeleteDottie :)
Hi TeddyRee!
ReplyDeleteWay to go finishing TWO challenges already! Impressive! I've fallen behind in all four of the reading challenges I joined... but the year's not over yet!!! LOL
Em ~ holy cow, now THAT'S a chunkster! Thanks for the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteDottie ~ too funny, I think I should give up on a couple as a bad joke!
Christine ~ now that's a positive attitude, "the year's not over yet." I should gain some motivation from that fact, but nah, there I go straight back into procrastination looking for a new challenge to join LOL
Congrats on finishing these challenges. Those YA books are all books that I've read or want to read!
ReplyDeleteHow cool - two challenges finished! I really need to get with it. I have three I am involved in and have hardly made any progress with everything else I have been reading!
ReplyDeleteohh no! I have done only 6 for the YA challenge :(
ReplyDeletebut CONGRATS!!!!!!!
