A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. Thanks Sheila!
We saw World War Z on the weekend (perks of a son working at the movies) and OMG I loved it, nearly jumped into a stranger's lap a couple of times. Even if you don't 'do' Zombies, Brad Pitt is serious eye candy and a sequel is getting serious consideration! Who's read the book and seen the movie? What did you think ... good adaptation?
I'd like to tidy up my scraproom this week, it's so messy I don't even want to make cards, maybe if I listen to an audiobook it'll get me motivated. I haven't spent enough time on Jodi Picoult's The Storyteller to be captivated yet. Anything blown you away lately??
Here's a card I made for my bestie (before my room turned into a dumpster)

ReplyDeleteLooks like you have some good books coming up. I loved Looking For Me. I also loved The Sea of Tranquility. I need to write my review soon while it is fresh in my mind!
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of zombie movies but I am currently watching the DVD of Warm Bodies which I think is kind of cute. For a zombie movie :)
Love the card for your bestie-so pretty and musical!
ReplyDeleteI do hate zombies but I still watch the movies ;)
ReplyDeleteI loved Dare You To, and I still have Sea of Tranquility on my TBR... Great list you have for this week as well, I hope you'll enjoy all the books.
ReplyDeleteHere's my It's Monday... post for this week.
I hope you enjoy Looking for Me as much as I did....and The Storyteller is another wonderful read.
ReplyDeleteLovely card for your friend!
I have seen the previews for World War Z...and the Brad Pitt "eye candy" factor almost has me wanting to go. But I really don't like disaster/war/apocalyptic movies. What a dilemma!
Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week.
Tha
Curious to see what you think about Sea of Tranquility.
ReplyDeleteHere's my It's Monday!
After reading the book and seeing the trailer I can figure out the connection between the two other than the title and zombies. Maybe when/if it comes out on Netflix I'll watch it, but I won't be going to the theaters.
ReplyDeleteMy Monday
Oh, nice titles! I want to see World War Z (didn't read the book, but the movie looks fantastic). I would like to read Looking For Me, and I have The Storyteller on my kindle now. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteMy sons loved the movie! Hope you enjoy Legend as much as I did. I've got Beth's book on my stack, but think I want to listen instead.
ReplyDeleteI have not read the book but so want to see the movie World War Z !
ReplyDeleteAck! Zombies give me the creeps, but if Brad Pitt is in the movie, I might consider watching. ;-) Ooo, I want the Beth Hoffman book. Hope you enjoy it! Here’s my POST. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHaving little or no interest in zombies, Brad Pitt or movies, I think I'll wait until my brother sees the movie and tells me I can't miss it before I schedule it in. I do have Legend on my TBR mountain and should read it soon. Come see my It's Monday... if you get a chance. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteYou make the prettiest cards! Lovely :)
ReplyDeleteYay for The Mourning Hours, I adored that book!
Have a great week, happy reading!
Intriguing reads! And I think i just may have to watch WWZ, since it seems to not be as bad as we thought! LOL, I bet that stranger was like WHO IS THIS WOMAN?! Here's my memes post today! Enjoy your weel!
ReplyDelete*or week...
Delete;)
So I'm a little jealous of you - I read the Storyteller and Looking for Me and LOVED LOVED LOVED both!! I wish I could go back to that pre-time just so I could discover both again. Hope you enjoy them. Both are well written but ask serious questions. If you have a book group - either of these books would be fabulous for it. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous reading week!! The Brunette Librarian's It's Monday, What Are You Reading post
Oooh what a great pile of books. I've heard so many good things about Legend! I can't wait to see your thoughts :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really not a Zombie fan so I think I'll wait til World War Z comes out on DVD.
ReplyDeleteRead on!

Believe me, I love me some Brad Pitt, also. Though since the whole leaving his wife thing, the stars have dimmed a bit. lol
ReplyDeleteAnyway, My son is a serious Zombie fan, he's read the book and all the other Max Brooks books (the author) and in his words...
"it's like they took one small section of the book, and made a movie out of it." He enjoyed the movie, but as he says, they only focused on a small bit - but he enjoyed the movie. We're thinking they bought the rights to the book, and are going to get two or three movies out of one novel. I've talked to other people who hated the movie based on the book, but I think my son was more objective about it, seeing things a bit more clearly. :) LOL, I don't always think that about him, haha.
My Reading Week
I think Jason is going to drag me to World War Z this weekend (shh, I'm not really complaining!).
ReplyDeleteMy scrap room is a dumpster right now. It's so bad that I don't even want to go into it!!!!!!!!!!!! YIkes! Marc saw WWZ and said that it wasn't true to the book at all, but that the movie still rocked! I just may have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI hardly ever get to the movies, but can't wait for the video release! So glad you liked it. Hope all is well friend:)
