It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

A weekly event hosted by Sheila from Book Journey to discuss your reading week ~ the books you've read and those you plan on reading in the coming week. I love this meme, it helps me stay on track ... well, most of the time. Thanks Sheila!

We saw World War Z on the weekend (perks of a son working at the movies) and OMG I loved it, nearly jumped into a stranger's lap a couple of times. Even if you don't 'do' Zombies, Brad Pitt is serious eye candy and a sequel is getting serious consideration! Who's read the book and seen the movie? What did you think ... good adaptation?

I'd like to tidy up my scraproom this week, it's so messy I don't even want to make cards, maybe if I listen to an audiobook it'll get me motivated. I haven't spent enough time on Jodi Picoult's The Storyteller to be captivated yet. Anything blown you away lately??

Here's a card I made for my bestie (before my room turned into a dumpster)

  2. Looks like you have some good books coming up. I loved Looking For Me. I also loved The Sea of Tranquility. I need to write my review soon while it is fresh in my mind!

I am not a fan of zombie movies but I am currently watching the DVD of Warm Bodies which I think is kind of cute. For a zombie movie :)

  6. I hope you enjoy Looking for Me as much as I did....and The Storyteller is another wonderful read.

    Lovely card for your friend!

I have seen the previews for World War Z...and the Brad Pitt "eye candy" factor almost has me wanting to go. But I really don't like disaster/war/apocalyptic movies. What a dilemma!

Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week.

  8. After reading the book and seeing the trailer I can figure out the connection between the two other than the title and zombies. Maybe when/if it comes out on Netflix I'll watch it, but I won't be going to the theaters.

  13. Having little or no interest in zombies, Brad Pitt or movies, I think I'll wait until my brother sees the movie and tells me I can't miss it before I schedule it in. I do have Legend on my TBR mountain and should read it soon. Come see my It's Monday... if you get a chance. Happy reading!

  16. So I'm a little jealous of you - I read the Storyteller and Looking for Me and LOVED LOVED LOVED both!! I wish I could go back to that pre-time just so I could discover both again. Hope you enjoy them. Both are well written but ask serious questions. If you have a book group - either of these books would be fabulous for it. :)

Have a fabulous reading week!! The Brunette Librarian's It's Monday, What Are You Reading post

  19. Believe me, I love me some Brad Pitt, also. Though since the whole leaving his wife thing, the stars have dimmed a bit. lol

Anyway, My son is a serious Zombie fan, he's read the book and all the other Max Brooks books (the author) and in his words...

"it's like they took one small section of the book, and made a movie out of it." He enjoyed the movie, but as he says, they only focused on a small bit - but he enjoyed the movie. We're thinking they bought the rights to the book, and are going to get two or three movies out of one novel. I've talked to other people who hated the movie based on the book, but I think my son was more objective about it, seeing things a bit more clearly. :) LOL, I don't always think that about him, haha.

  21. My scrap room is a dumpster right now. It's so bad that I don't even want to go into it!!!!!!!!!!!! YIkes! Marc saw WWZ and said that it wasn't true to the book at all, but that the movie still rocked! I just may have to check it out!
