Synopsis: Lady Lydia Rothermere has spent the past decade trying to make up for a single, youthful moment of passion. Now the image of propriety, Lydia knows her future rests on never straying outside society's rigid rules, but hiding away the desire that runs through her is harder than she could have ever dreamed. And as she prepares for a marriage that will suit her family, but not her heart, Lydia must decide what's more important: propriety or passion?
Simon Metcalf is a rake and adventurer. But for all his experience, nothing can compare to the kiss he stole from the captivating Lydia Rothermere ten years ago. Simon can scarcely believe he's about to lose the one woman he's never forgotten. The attraction between them is irresistible, yet Lydia refuses to forsake her engagement. With his heart on the line, will Simon prove that love is a risk worth taking?
Karen's
Thoughts: A
lovely read whilst patiently waiting for Anna’s next installment in the Sons of
Sin series to come out ... just a taste but a delicious taste it was!
I
always find it hard to review a novella that I like because whilst I enjoyed this
read, I found myself wishing Simon and Lydia had a full length novel all of their own. I have a yearning for more of them; maybe glimpses in Cam’s story? (3rd book)
My
Thoughts: I second
Karen's thoughts ... although waiting not so patiently. I was surprised at
how fleshed out Lydia & Simon's story was, no easy feat in a novella.
Days
of Rakes and Roses is delightful, a tantalising teaser, like potato chips, easy
to gobble but leave you wanting more.
Looking forward to the next 'sinful' installment A RAKE'S MIDNIGHT
KISS, Sir Richard Harmsworth’s story due out late August. I've got my
fingers crossed for an ARC on Netgalley ... put a good word in for me will you
Anna ;)
Cover: Everyone knows I'm a cover whore but did you know I have a 'thing' for roses? My Mum & Dad were avid members of The QLD Rose Society and I have a rose garden in memory of my baby girl in heaven. This gorgeous cover ties in beautifully with the story and gets my seal of
approval!
rose perfection from my garden
