Linking up with Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It's Monday! What are You Reading? now hosted by Kathryn @Book Date.
On the home front:
It has been as hot as hades here this week, scary to think what summer is going to be like.
This week I went to my granddaughter's swimming lesson, looked after my youngest son's cat for the first time and Callum and his girlfriend came for dinner. Bella wasn't impressed having a cat in her space but she's always happy to get some loving from Mia.
Also saw The Dressmaker with my lovely friend Sherryl, we both laughed ourselves silly (Judy Davis was a hoot) and a few tears fell. Was great to catch up. The final book in Sherryl Caulfield's Iceberg trilogy will be out some time in December.
And hallelujah the photo albums I gave my boys for their 21sts are finally finished ... my back feels like it's broken but it's great to be able to see the bedroom floor again. They started off with photos from birth to the start of school but the last few months I've been topping up their albums as I find more photos and scan more. They now have photos til the end of primary school. Thank goodness for the digital age, scanning photos is mind-numbing.
#FitReaders Weekly Check-In
#FitReaders co-hosted by Felicia @ Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and Jen @ That’s What I’m Talking About. FitReaders is a great way to stay motivated, accountable and it's more fun having bloggy friends to check in with. If you also have a fitbit and want to add me, let me know :)
This week, I upped my daily step goal slightly from 8000 to 8500. Jen and Felicia's Thanksgiving #strutyourstuff Walk and a Fitbit Goal Day Challenge was just the motivation I needed to move my butt in the heat, but it was tough!

How hot is it there now?
ReplyDeleteWe've had temps in the mid 30's but it's the humidity that gets you ... 90% + humidity feels like you're permanently in a sauna
DeleteCongrats on getting the photo albums finished! I have dreams of doing that but haven't started yet. Love the picture of Bella and The Dressmaker looks so good. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteit's a big job Katherine, and it mutated and grew over time ... not the most fun I've ever had lol. Loved The Dressmaker and Liam Hemsworth is serious eye candy!
DeleteCongrats on those photo albums...and how amazing Mia is, growing up so fast, and so adorable.
ReplyDeleteGreat trailer for The Dressmaker...I love Judy Davis and Kate Winslet.
Enjoy your week, and I hope to start reading my copy of The Things We Keep...once I finish the Amazon Vine books I have on my stack!
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Loved Judy Davis, Kate Winslet and Hugo Weaving in this, Judy Davis in particular plays a brilliant part. And Liam Hemsworth isn't difficult to look at lol
DeleteI'll take just enough of your heat to warm it up here without making it too cold there. :) We hit 20's last night brr so the novelty of the cooler weather is wearing off a bit LOL.
ReplyDeleteYour new books look nice. Have a fantastic week!
Believe me Greg if I could send you a few degrees I'd happily share ... where's my bucket of snow?? lol
DeleteWow you rocked it with the steps in spite of the heat. Don't know how you do it with those kind of temps you been having. I have been out already today because the sun is hot and about 21, and that is hot enough!!
ReplyDeleteMust look out for The Dressmaker here and go see.
Will be looking forward to your review of Come Full Circle.
Nice to finally see the floor and feel you are achieving something with the photos.
Mia and cat story - adorable.
I took some of my mom's old photo albums for a project for their 40th anniversary back in February. I finished the project but haven't returned the albums because I want to scan the pictures. Too bad I never seem to have time for that! She's going to march out here and get them one day, I know. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as if Mia is very gentle with Bella which is great. I have a friend with a 4yr old and he's a bit rough with her cats!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen The Dressmaker - heard mixed reviews though. I read the book ages ago and think I struggled with it!
The Dressmaker looks really interesting. Hope the cat sitting went well and I'm glad you were able to work on your photo albums. Sounds like quite an undertaking.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get much exercise in this week and I definitely overdid it on the pie and chocolate at my parents' house. Thankfully my sister brought some Paleo pumpkin pie bars to Thanksgiving so that was marginally healthy :) I need to get back to walking this week.
I'll take some of that heat! It is getting colder here though we haven't had any snow yet thankfully.
Have a great week!
Looks like Mia and Bella will be besties! So glad you liked Vanessa Michael Monroe! We are experiencing warmer than normal temps and I am so glad! Snow will be here soon enough. Yay on the photo project! I am working on projects for my brothers.
ReplyDeleteAlong the Infinite Sea and the Hepworth book were very very good. I loved the two books and hope you do too. Its rainy weather here and cooler than before though the roads are very messy!
ReplyDeleteI'm dreading summer, though it doesn't get quite as hot here. I'm a cold weather creature :) Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteThe Dressmaker looks like a good movie! I will have to keep an eye out for it in theaters.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
I bet Judy Davis is awesome in The Dressmaker! I might watch it just for her ;)
ReplyDeleteThe albums sound great, especially in this digital age where so little is printed out. I bet they are much appreciated. Have a good week. Emma
ReplyDeleteIt is winter here, but it is warmer than usual. it is really odd. I want to read the Infinite Sea. I have it on my TBR!
ReplyDeleteI'd love some of your heat as we head into winter here, too! Glad to hear you're enjoying Along the Infinite. It never seems like there is enough time to read...
ReplyDeleteLoving that photo of Mia! Adorable! And YAY for getting the books done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteUnseasonal weather has arrived here early too... Except of the winter kind!
ReplyDeleteYou always share the cutest pictures of your grandchildren!
All your upcoming reads sound interesting, especially The Things We Keep. I'll have to keep an eye out for your thoughts on that one. Happy Reading!

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
My husband and I recently scanned all our photos. I agree it is a mind-numbing job, but so very satisfactory when you finish.
ReplyDeleteWe have had hot weather in Victoria lately, but we don't get the humidity that you do, thank goodness.
The Dressmaker looks good - the book and the film.
Organizing photos is one heck of a challenge! Kudos to you on preserving those memories. It's wonderful to have them. Your granddaughter is a sweetie. How fun to watcher her swim. Swimming is such a life skill. I'm glad my girls are water babies like me.
